Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are helping get things ready for Greenfield’s Winter Festival. The town wants to raise money to repair a famous old statue in the town square. But nearby store owners are arguing—some want the statue moved; others want to keep it right where it has always been.

Then strange things start happening. The Aldens find a photo of the statue with a secret message printed on it. Another day they discover that the statue has been painted red. And one awful morning, they realize that the valuable old statue has been stolen in the middle of the night! Can the Boxcar Children discover who is behind all this? Can they save the Winter Festival?
