Publisher Description

Linda Davis’s local fabric shop is a place where women gather to share their creations: quilts commemorating important events in their lives. Wedding quilts, baby quilts, memorial quilts—each is bound tight with dreams, hopes, and yearnings.

Now, as her only child readies for college, Linda is torn between excitement for Molly and heartache for herself. Who will she be when she is no longer needed in her role as mom? What will become of her days? Of her marriage?

Mother and daughter decide to share one last adventure together—a cross-country road trip to move Molly into her dorm. As they wend their way through the heart of the country, Linda stitches together the scraps that make up Molly’s young life. And in the quilting of each bit of fabric—the hem of a christening gown, a snippet from a Halloween costume—Linda discovers that the memories of a shared journey can come together in a way that will keep them both warm in the years to come....

" Picked this book up because I've read and enjoyed a handful of Susan Wiggs books and my Mom is a big quilter, so I thought I might enjoy this. Oh my, this book has almost NO real story to it...just a bunch of sentiments around a daughter going to college. There were no big events (okay, maybe one), no big mystery, no big problems to solve, etc...maybe that's the point. Wow- guess this book is geared towards the quilting-age-crowd (they can't handle big excitement?), not the 30-somethings. I (kind of) recommend this book to people who like to quilt AND who have an only daughter who is about to go off to college. "

" I liked this book, but it occasionally made me tear up since my mom dropped me off and I know (hope) I will one day drop Kennedy off at college. That being said, it was occasionally a little predictable "

" I love Susan Wiggs' books! Can't get enough of her contemporary romances! But this one just didn't hit the mark for me. No, it's not a romance, which I knew going in, but I just didn't find excitement in it. It was a slow read and I just couldn't get into it! Was waiting patiently throughout the book for the exciting part and I didn't find it! Still a true fan though!! "
