Here, the man who started the food revolution with the million-plus-selling Diet for a New America, boldly posits that, collectively, our personal diet can save ourselves and the world. If, according to chaos theory, the beating of a butterfly's wing can cause a hurricane in another part of the world, try this out for chaotic cause and effect: monarch butterflies are dying in droves due to genetically-engineered corn growing in the Midwest. There is also a direct correlation between the Big Mac in your hand and the mile-wide river now running across the North Pole. Learn the truth about foods we are eating that are, in Robbins' words, unsafe on any plate.

" I loved this book. It presents in impact of our dietary habits on our own health, animals and the planet in a very informative and powerful way. "

" This is one of the most important books I have ever read. It was giving to Travis and I from some dear friends of mine, and we have passed it on to several of our other friends and family since. Each person we have given it to has said the same thing: It is life changing. If you want to better your life and or your world, read this book. "

" Another good book full of things about how we can help our world and our bodies as far as moving towards better health in both areas. Well written and with much heart. I highly recommend it to you. But, as a Christian, I have to add that I don't buy into his theories of the earth being millions and millions of years old or the idea of global warming. That said, with a little common sense, read on. "

" Great book! The truth behind the messages we hear every day is clearly laid out with quotes from both industry and researchers who refute those misleading statements. You are what you eat and our food choices impact even more than our health. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Collins | 1/23/2014

" The impact of our food choices on the planet, environment, waterways, land, and health effects on humans. A book that definitely has a strong case for vegetarianism and its broad effects. Well written and researched, and very convincing. If you want to know why it is important to be vegetarian read this book. "

" An excellent follow-up to Robbins' groundbreaking Diet for a New America. Information on issues is updated and very valuable. There won't be a dry eye when you read the follow-up on the pig farmer from the first book: touching to say the least. Very well-written and engaging: tough concepts covered clearly would be a good 4 word description. "

" Pretty good. The health part was already covered by The China Study, and the animal welfare part has been addressed by other books and documentaries. But the details on the risks of genetically modified organisms were largely new to me. An informative read. "
