A Coretta Scott King award-winner and National Teacher of the Year, Sharon M. Draper uses a brilliant variety of styles and voices to tell this compelling story in her Hazelwood High trilogy.

The night that changes everything in Andy's life begins as a great time. His basketball team wins a big game, and he and his best friend have some cold brews stashed in the car, just waiting for the rolling party to begin. Nothing anyone can say or do afterwards will convince Andy that what happens next isn't his fault.

" Tears of a tiger was a good book, it was the type of book that i enjoy reading even outside of class. Andy is driving drunk just like most teenagers, but unlike most teenagers his best friend, Rob gets killed becuase of his actions. While it may hve been Andy's fault most people forgive Andy in time. Even Rob's parents forgive him. But Andy cannot forgive himself, and in the end the guilt overpowers Andy and he kills himself. This book did a excelent job of explaining how someone might feel after that type of tragidy. The book give variety of different view points on the event and the aftermath. "

" It was kind of boring at times, but it got better at some parts. I think when you talk about one of the bigest details in the whole book in the first chapter you get really caught into it, but as you continue to read it's not really interesting anymore untill something big happens again. "
