"Swindle was a great and exciting book. I liked this book because it was filed with action and it is a mystery book. Mystery books are great stories because it keeps you thinking all through the book. I love the part when griffin dares all his friends in too have a sleepover in the old haunted house. Then... they find a baseball card of babe ruth that is very old and worth a very big amount of money. Griffin plans to sell this card because he family is in trouble of moving because they cant aford the house. Griffin goes to the local card store he asked the man "how much can i sell this card for".He says "i will take it for 300 dollars."He sells it. then he relizes it is worth over a million dollars. he and his friends try and steal it back and in the end they get it. I recommend this book to all ages. This is a great book."

" "Swindle" is a phenomenal work of fiction for young adults. It is an easy read, which tells the story of Griffin, a boy living in a small town, who happens upon a rare Babe Ruth baseball card. When he attempts to sell the card, he gets swindled. Upon learning that he was hoodwinked, he conjures up a plan to steal the baseball card back. In the process, he makes some new friends, learns that some plans don't always work the first time, and that perseverance is a great quality to possess. In the end, it all works out. The book is filled with action, great realistic dialogue between middle school students, and likable characters with whom we can easily relate. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, entertaining read. You won't be disappointed. "

" This was a fun surprise. I never read the synopsis on the back, had no idea what it was about. Actually thought it was going to be a story about a dog, based on the cover. But, the opening grabbed me right away and I enjoyed the entire book. Lots of good twists to keep me interested with a variety of characters. Good solid writing and well structured. Nothing to get me really thinking or tug at my heartstrings, but I do recommend it as a quick, easy, and enjoyable read. "

" Swindle is a really good book. The cover gives the book the wrong idea, in my opinion. I mean, the book has very little to do with the dog on the cover. (That's the only reason why I got this book) It is still cool. "

" The writer has a pathological fear or perhaps hatred of the word "said." I couldn't get excited about it and its ambiguous moral message and its lack of any meaningful suspense. My kids didn't even really get into it. "
