A stunning and unexpected tale of tragedy, survival, and true beauty

For fashion journalist Lauren (“LoLo”) Scruggs, a short flight to look at Christmas lights turned into a nightmare when she was struck by the plane’s spinning propeller blades. As Lauren was rushed to the hospital, fighting for her life, the world watched in shock and horror. Several major surgeries and thousands of prayers later, Lauren was still alive. But she had suffered brain trauma and lost her left hand and left eye. Some thought that this would be the end of everything for her, a beautiful young woman working in an industry focused completely on appearance.

They were wrong.

In Still LoLo, Lauren reveals what really happened that night, how she survived against all odds, and what her life is like today. She is unflinchingly honest in the face of difficult questions: What kind of future will I have? Will anyone be able to love me now? Where is God in all this pain? Through her story, Lauren calls us all to live a life without fear—and to overcome whatever challenges threaten to limit us. Containing personal stories from Lauren and her family, Still LoLo is a compelling and fiercely beautiful account of faith, determination, and staying true to who you are—no matter what.

" After seeing this book on Amazon I decided to give it a try, mainly because I live in the same area as Lolo and remember hearing all about her accident. I felt like this book was really well written and gave just enough insight into the accident itself but mainly her healing. I truly enjoyed the way the chapters were told by the different members of the Scruggs family, allowing the reader to see how everyone was impacted and not just Lauren. "

" Beautiful, rich white girl, horrible accident, she survives. This book was written by all the members of the author's family and I couldn't relate to any of them. "

" Great and inspiring read. I would recommend to anyone looking for a boost of motivation to tackle life's challenges. I would also suggest as a gift to a young adult woman going into college or tackling other other life changes. "

" This is an amazing story. She makes me want to be a better person, not only by believing in something greater than myself, but to help others in need. She persevered through something no one should have to live through. Her story is relatable on so many levels, whether one could use inspiration getting through their own personal dilemma, or to help someone understand what others are going through. "

" This was a quick, easy read, and was very interesting. I love true stories with strong females, and Lauren is definitely that. I admire her tenacity and honesty, and definitely, her "story" is still being written. I look forward to hearing more about what she is doing. "
