"I don't know why but you will sometimes find Kay Hoopers books in romance instead of crime. She does have a romance series but they are not the same as these.I can't figure it out because they are not bodice ripper type of novels. They are a great read with a little bit of 'six sense' involved."

“Awesome…Readers are in for a terrific thrill ride.”
— RT Book Reviews, Best Romantic Suspense Award winner, 2000 (4½ stars, Top Pick!)“A fast-paced, suspenseful plot…The story’s complicated and intriguing twists and turns keep the reader guessing until the chilling end.”
— Publishers Weekly“Cristine McMurdo-Wallis’ performance draws out the complexity of the plot. As she develops her characters with care and distinction, she plays upon mood as a critical component of the drama and suspense, keeping it all in balance and playing out the tension without letting it run rampant…Compelling.”
— AudioFile“A serial-killer tale charged with deeply felt dread and romance that will steal readers’ hearts.”
— Booklist" It has to be said I'm not really a fan of the paranormal being mixed with other genres, in this case, serial killer-police procedural.... I do prefer one or the other. Having said that, I did quite enjoy this book. It was fast paced and well written. I will give others in this series a go to see if this "mixed genre" thing can grow on me! "
— Lisa, 2/19/2014" This one was ok, but also kind of cheesy. "

— C.G., 12/27/2013" Super creepy, along the lines of Mary Higgins Clark. Weirdly though, it looks like the rest of the series is not about the main character. I liked the writing so I'll keep reading. "

— Carolyn, 10/17/2013" For some reason I thought this was Christian Fiction. Uh, no, since there is an extended sex scene about half way through. Still, it was an above average read though, as a mystery, it was pretty simple. "

— melody, 8/5/2013" This was a pleasant enough book - solid writing, likeable characters and a nicely twisting case. The main character was very interesting, as was the power given to her. That said, I can't say the book was anything special. It was entertaining for the moment, nothing more. "
— Annis, 7/31/2013" I totally love her books. Again, easy reading. But they have intrigue, horror, paranormal, suspense and romance. They are just fun to read. "
— Lori, 7/10/2013" I can't say enough good things about Kay Hooper. I really enjoy her writing style. Again the paranormal and a little romance thrown in. But, not too much. People die and there's a confusing mystery to solve. Good, good stuff. "

— Lynn, 8/4/2011" I totally love her books. Again, easy reading. But they have intrigue, horror, paranormal, suspense and romance. They are just fun to read. "
— Lori, 8/2/2011" Absolutely amazing and suspenseful. It was a great introduction to the world of stealing shadows. I understand that the trilogy is based around one of the agents but I loved the psychic, Cassie, so much. I wish that we could've delved a little more deeper into her character and past. "
