Publisher Description

Kay Hooper's flair for storytelling and her broad mastery of genre are apparent in her electrifying novels. Her many works include modern and historical romances, fantasies, mysteries, gothic novels, and, like Out of the Shadows, suspense thrillers featuring psychic ability. The small, friendly town of Gladstone, Tennessee seems the ideal place to raise a family-until two teenagers are found tortured to death. Sheriff Miranda Knight will do anything to make her small town safe again, even if it means calling in Noah Bishop, the FBI's psychic profiler. The last time she and Noah combined their psychic powers, she was almost destroyed. Now she must learn to trust him again, or she will most certainly die at the hands of the monster who's stalking her town. Narrator C.J. Critt breathes life into the beautiful psychic sheriff with paranormal powers and transforms this exciting blend of romance, mystery, and suspense into an exciting listening experience.

"This is book 3 in the series Bishop Special Crimes Unit series. In this book we finally get to learn more about Bishop and his past! Miranda has abilities of her own, abilities that tell her she needs Bishops help. Last time she trusted Bishop something awful happened...something that changed her life and she ran. Now she has no choice but to call Bishop and ask for his help in solving murders that are happening in her town. This book was amazing..the best of the series so far! I loved finding out more about Bishop and seeing Miranda and Bishop interact. I loved seeing them work together to solve the case..and what a case it was! Keeps you guessing until the end! This is one book you do not want to miss!"

" Though part of a series this book was interesting to read. All I could think of was this story was the TV show Criminal Minds with a psychic twist way out there sort of TV shows The Mentalist, Medium and Ghost Whisperer all rolled up into one. Some of the story was a little gory for my taste but all in all I liked this book. "

" 3rd of 3. This story plays out like a really good game of chess (you can't missed the less than subtle references). Delves deeper into the emotional side of the characters. Readers FINALLY get Noah's story. Not as gripping in suspense, but touches the heart. "

" Third in the "Shadows" trilogy. Fortunately, Hooper wrote more books based on the characters and Bishop's unit in the FBI. This is part of a book spiral and I'll be sending it along to the next participant. "

" I don't know why but you will sometimes find Kay Hoopers books in romance instead of crime. I can't figure it out because they are not bodice ripper type of novels. They are a great read with a little bit of 'six sense' involved. "
