Stephen King’s bestselling thriller is now available, unabridged, for only $14.99!
When commercial artist Richard Sifkitz finally gets around to having that physical he’d been putting off for years, and his cholesterol comes back dangerously high, he does what so many thirty-something, junk food-eating couch potatoes have done before him: He buys a stationary bike, and vows to ride it regularly.
Unlike many a mid-life exercise convert, however, Richard actually starts to ride his new stationary bike. A lot. Soon he’s spending so much time on his bike that he decides to put his artistic talents to use and paint a mural on the wall opposite his stationary bike. But it turns out that Richard’s mural is no ordinary picture, and soon his stationary bike is taking him places he doesn’t want to go, and can't stay away from.
A riveting take on artistic frustration, mid-life mortality, and hard-won redemption, Stationary Bike is a thrill ride that could come only from the mind of Stephen King.

"Richard Sifkitz gets an exercise bike after finding out his cholesterol level is red lining. What happens after Sifkitz paints a mural in front of the exercise bike is both exciting and a little creepy. This novella originally was published in a collection called Borderland 5."

“Ron McLarty continues to prove himself the best interpreter of King’s work.”
— AudioFile" A very enjoyable short story. We listened to this story in the car on a drive to South Carolina. "
— Erik, 2/18/2014" I think I wanted more from the ending. I loved the story. I am just not sure what more I was looking for. It wasn't that I needed more blood and guts or something like that. I just don't know. "
— MG, 2/15/2014" I listened to this book on the way to AZ in between semesters with Kelli Golden. It was alright. "
— Kimball, 1/31/2014" I also recently listened to The Dune, and Mile 81 which are Stephen King audiobook exclusive stories. I have to say this one was far less gruesome but very intriguing and well done. Really liked the story and the way it was read. "
— Natlukens, 1/30/2014" My first and last novel by Stephen King. This novel has no movement like its title suggests "
— Leslievenson, 1/28/2014" I don't think I've read anything by Stephen King that I didn't like at all, and this novella wasn't any different. It was a short story about a man who finds himself at the age of 38 needing to get in shape and improve his health, and after buying a stationary bike, he creates sort of an alternate world in which he rides. After a time (as all great King books do) it takes a dark turn and things become a little more real than they originally seemed. "
— Leslie, 1/24/2014" Strange - as you would expect. "
— Sally, 1/14/2014" A stationary bike ride gone wrong... Haha "
— Brittany, 12/5/2013" The story seemed interesting enough, a fat man tries to loose weight but odd things are happening to him, but it was just average. Nothing too thrilling about it, but could be used as a great motivational tale at any Weight Watchers meeting. "
— Dan, 11/15/2013" Fun short story. Typical King. Reminded me of an episode of Twilight Zone, or Amazing Stories. "
— Steve, 9/30/2013" This was a decent story. But I don't remember a lot of it so I didn't really rate it to good. I'm not really much help here. "
— Jan, 9/24/2013" I felt the ending was rushed. Maybe because it was a short story and I am used to novels. I enjoyed the story other then that. "
— Chrystal714, 9/13/2013" Odd! Not one of his better ones, but it is still interesting. "
— Anissa, 9/12/2013" I listened to this driving to/from work. It was really short, but I found it to be a bit boring. It's about a man with health issues who delves into fixing himself, but finds that he gets lost within his own imagination and inner pysche. It just wasn't my favorite, I was thankful it was only 2 CDs. "
— Lindsey, 8/13/2013" Kind of strange, but quickened an otherwise long road trip. "
— Kandice, 4/7/2013" Another fun, short audio book from the endlessly inventive mind of Stephen King - very enjoyable! "
— Rob, 1/10/2013" One word = surreal "
— Ike, 11/1/2012" I really liked this book! "
— Deedra, 10/2/2012" Great little story! Totally enjoyable for anyone who likes King! "
— Rsoeffker, 9/7/2012" Interesting but undeveloped. Too sketchy. "
— Nigel, 4/26/2012" This is the second time a stephen king book has brought weight loss to my attention. Between all that I am seeing in my life and knowing that I need to, I am determined to lose weight. When the king of scary makes you think about the weight you need to lose, you should do it. "
— Eric, 12/6/2011" I'm not a Stephen King fan -- not into dark, scary thrillers. I bought this audiobook at a tag sale and gave it a listen. I liked it; it isn't his typical macabre-type story. "
— Maria, 9/26/2011" It was, from the beginning, not a story that held my interest too much. Perhaps, to me anyway, it was so unlike other stories he's written? Either way, I had a tough time identifying with the main character, and it just felt kind of "choppy" at times. "
— Reese, 7/31/2011" This was a pretty cool novel on cd. I liked the setting of the story and how it carries you along to wonder what happens next. Listened in my car to and from work - enjoyable! "
— David, 7/21/2011" This was a quite interesting short story. I enjoyed the entire twisted plot and the not so underlining message. Great book! "
— Amber, 7/11/2011" I got this audio book short story from the library & at first was kind of bored with it & wondered where King was going w/ the plot line. I'm glad I kept listening as I enjoyed the twist ending. "
— Sara, 5/12/2011" Excellent short story by the King. Some of the familiar elements of his work, but surprisingly upbeat. Please keep writing the short stories! "
— Beth, 5/3/2011" Listened to audio CD version; this was a lot of fun and suspenseful. I liked the ending - didn't see it coming. "
— Peregrine, 12/10/2010" The story seemed interesting enough, a fat man tries to loose weight but odd things are happening to him, but it was just average. Nothing too thrilling about it, but could be used as a great motivational tale at any Weight Watchers meeting. "
— Dan, 11/7/2010" My first and last novel by Stephen King. This novel has no movement like its title suggests "
— Leslievenson, 10/13/2010" I think I wanted more from the ending. I loved the story. I am just not sure what more I was looking for. It wasn't that I needed more blood and guts or something like that. I just don't know. "
— MG, 10/11/2010" I had read this short story a while back. I didn't remember it until I started listening. This is a good one. "
— Tara, 9/1/2010" An interesting premise, but not at all scary! "
— Jeanne, 6/7/2010" Another fun, short audio book from the endlessly inventive mind of Stephen King - very enjoyable! "
— Rob, 3/25/2010" Fun short story. Typical King. Reminded me of an episode of Twilight Zone, or Amazing Stories. "
— Steve, 1/5/2010" Weird...but what was I supposed to expect with Steven King. "
— Mischelle, 3/31/2009" I thought that the BEST one has to be "N". I dont personally know anyone with OCD but this story hits the nail on the head. It's GREAT! "
