After three years, Jace Montgomery is still grieving over his fiancée Stacy's mysterious suicide. He hasn't been interested in another woman since her passing, and her family still blames him for her death. While flipping through one of her old paperbacks, Jace discovers a photo of a house stuck between the pages, bearing the cryptic message, "Ours again. Together forever. See you there." The note was dated the day before her death. Obsessed with trying to understand Stacy's suicide, Jace seeks out the property -- Priory House, a big brick fortress in Margate, England -- and buys it.
It doesn't take long to learn that the house is haunted by a headstrong and feisty ghost, Ann Stuart, whom he must tangle with if he's ever to solve the mystery. Ann died under circumstances similar to those of his late fiancée, and he has a hunch that there is a connection between the two. Through his own investigations and with the help of a beautiful foreign correspondent who is worn out by what she's seen in the world, Jace is forced to reconcile his fiancée's life and her death. What follows is a satisfying and seductive discovery of both time and love by one of America's favorite storytellers.

"If you are looking a normal Jude Deveraux (Montgomery) romance, then this is not the book. That does NOT mean that this isn't a great read. It is a murder mystery with a romantic flavor. I enjoyed this book just as much as Deveraux's other books, but I also knew what to expect when I went into reading it. I might not have enjoyed it as much if I had not known."

“Deveraux’s touch is gold.”
— Publishers Weekly“Deveraux’s wonderful addition to her romances about the Montgomery family will satisfy old fans and entice new ones.”
— Booklist" Kind of a strange genre. Mainly a mystery, sprinkled with a little paranormal & some flirting between characters. It was a quick, light read with interesting characters. But the ending in regards to the ghostly spirits was absolutely ridiculous. "
— Amanda, 2/20/2014" This was a great book if you like a little ghost story, mystery, and romance. I loved this book "
— Mandy, 2/19/2014" Even though I enjoy reading the classics, a little light reading is always welcome. Unfortunately nothing Jude Deveraux writes has ever come close to A Knight in Shining Armor. "
— Jami, 2/17/2014" A whimsical romance with a couple of ghosts thrown in. A litte bit of history and a little bit of mystery put together in a delightful plot. "
— Carol, 2/15/2014" i really liked this book "
— Kim, 1/18/2014" Loved it, Loved it! The whole ghost aspect was great. This book wasn't a cheesy love story, but there was love. I recommend this book as a great summer read. "
— Jeanine, 1/16/2014" Interesting idea of a ghost/love story. Very easy to read and liked the humour of the 2 main characters. Not high literature by any means but an enjoyable interlude between more meaty books. "
— Leslea, 1/11/2014" read 08.20.07 "
— colleen, 12/25/2013" A good quick read in between other books. "
— Jodi, 12/6/2013" I liked the story but I felt like it was almost 2 books. In the end she wrapped things up but I didn't feel either story was really resolved. "
— Melsbells, 12/4/2013" Was a very slow read for me. "
— Christine, 11/25/2013" It was a slow beginning with no real love story they just love eachother straight away and the ending was super weak and kinda icky "
— Gen, 10/30/2013" Didn't love it to many twists and turns "
— James, 10/11/2013" Typical suspense/romance. Interesting and humorous main characters. "
— Lana, 9/19/2013" Not her best by far buy enjoyable. "
— Jennifer, 5/6/2013" I went to the library to try out audiobooks for the first time. So when my screaming toddler was causing hairy eyeballs in the library, I grabbed this quick based on author alone. I love the idea of an audio book more than the book itself. "
— Jill, 4/7/2013" This is a lazy day read. I wanted something that was purely fluff and this was it. Actually for a "just for fun" book this probably would get 4 stars because the story is quick, engaging, and doesn't require deep thought. :-) "
— Gigi, 8/29/2012" This book was an easy read for me. It was corny, but I really enjoyed it. It had it all. Humor, romance, drama, mystery, tragedy; you name it, you will find it somewhere in this book. I think this would be a perfect movie for lifetime :P "
— Deborah, 8/24/2012" This book was a good easy read. It had a nice twist to it so that it didn't become boring. "
— Janelle, 7/31/2012" Jude is one of my favorite authors. Everytime I see a book of hers I snatch it up. She keeps me enticed in the book from the second I pick it up. This story was amazing. Very passionate and warming. "
— Krista, 5/23/2012" Ending was a little different and not sure I liked it but the rest of the story was a good one. Lots of twists and lots of love. "
— Karrie, 4/19/2012" ok story but I had figured out "who did it" before the end. Also the ending for the ghosts did not quite work for me. Average book though. "
— Laurie, 2/23/2012" Very different for me. I like Deverrauz's writing style. I think I will try some of her other books and see where they take me. The plot was interesting and the paranormal aspect was very original the way it was done. Two thumbs up for originality!! "
— Tasha, 2/10/2012" This is not a typical romance novel, but then, Jude Deveraux is not a typical romance author. Be prepared for mystery and ghosts, a pretty good "whodunnit". No skanky material to be aware of, I would recommend this book if you are in need of a get-a-way. "
— Patti, 1/26/2012" I don't usually like ghost stories but this was an entertaining unspooky romance with a hint of mystery. "
— Lynda, 12/28/2011" Worst Jude Deveraux book I've read. It seems like it was written by someone else - I think that the loss of the author's son has had a profound effect on her writing. It's almost like when Kathleen E. Woodiwiss' writing style went down hill. Very disappointed. "
— Charlotte, 12/5/2011" A fluff book. But I enjoyed it... "
— Elin, 4/13/2011" Not one of my favs - I really enjoy a great mystery with a little romance, this was opposite of that - it was a bad mystery with a whole lot of eye rolling romance with a "you have got to be kidding" ending. "
— Diane, 3/8/2011" This was pretty good - a murder mystery (or two), a ghost (or two), a bit of romance. Set in England, and I think it might be set at the same estate featured in the time-travel sequence from Return to Summerhouse (Priory House), which is a nice Easter egg. Overall, a nice fluffy read. "
— Melowin, 2/21/2011" I enjoyed this story. There are several unexpected plot twists. It was a very good read. I liked the characters.
"
— Lora, 2/19/2011" I thought I liked it when I finished it. Then a day later, I decided that it required a level of suspension of disbelief that is beyond my abilities. There are pretty big gaps in the story and I hate books that end with ghosts inhabiting bodies for sex. Puhlease! "
— Joanne, 1/31/2011" Jude Deveraux does it again! Another well written love story that’s also a mystery. A great read! "
— Janice, 12/30/2010" i have no words to describe it! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! "
— Margarida, 12/19/2010" A good read. Nice depth to plot. Enjoyed the story line, except for the epilogue which was a bit too corny for me. "
— Dave, 9/30/2010" Ghosts bring Jace and Nigh together as he searches for the reason his fiance committed suicide. Kind of silly, but easy read. "
— Melinda, 8/23/2010" Great book.
I was so suprised at the end when it ended.
I was shocked. I loved the ghosts. "
— Paula, 7/3/2010" Kind of a strange genre. Mainly a mystery, sprinkled with a little paranormal & some flirting between characters. It was a quick, light read with interesting characters. But the ending in regards to the ghostly spirits was absolutely ridiculous. "
— Amanda, 6/2/2010" Good Read! Did not want the story to end... "
