"I like this book because it talks about how when one thing leads to another because a friend likes a friend but another friend likes a friend to but in a bigger friend way. The story is about this guy named Will Tuppence and he is a guy who is in love with protons and when he heard that protons could die, he freaked out like a man jumping in a river. Then he told his friends named Mi-Su and BT if they know about and Mi-Su already knew that protons could die. In the middle Will Tuppence is kind of in a love trance because he likes Mi-Su and BT likes her too. I recommend this to everyone."

" This is a 3 1/2 stars. I listened to it on CD and really enjoyed it... my daughter Michelle also liked it (except the kissing parts...it's really geared for older kids... maybe age 10-12 or so). It's about a boy who is profoundly troubled when he learns that protons die...that eventually everything in the universe will disappear. About a boy who has an annoying (but also surprisingly sweet) little sister. About a boy who has a crush and has all the conflicting feelings of a young teenager. About a boy trying to figure out his life, win at chess, get the girl, etc. Seems like most people could find something (or many things) to relate to. "

" This book is one of the best books I have ever read. I don't really understand what the point is because there are so many obstructions that come across this book... But the book is really truly amazing. I stayed up literally all night to read this thing. It was so addicting and I can't stop thinking about it! This book TOTALLY relates to my life so that's probably why I'm so addicted to it... But anyway, this is my first (of many) Jerry Spinelli book that I have ever read. And now that I know his voice, I plan to read many more! "

" I love Jerry Spinelli, but had a hard time getting into the character of Will Tuppence. I do like the way he develops his characters fully and embedds life lessons for young adults. Not sure how many can relate to Will or BT for that fact. It was OK, not a stand out for me. "

About Jerry Spinelli

Jerry Spinelli discovered his calling in 1957 when his high school football team won a big game. The town celebrated and his fellow students raced through the streets, but Jerry sneaked back home and marked the occasion in his own way. He wrote a poem. Later the town newspaper published it. He has been a writer ever since. Married to Eileen Spinelli, who is also a writer, Jerry was for many years an editor for the Chilton Company. Now a full-time writer, he lives in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. His immensely popular books include Space Station Seventh Grade, Jason and Marceline, Who Put That Hair in My Toothbrush?, and Maniac Magee, which has won more than fifteen state children’s book awards in addition to the Newbery Medal.
