From #1 New York Times bestselling author of Seeing Red comes this thrilling novel full of jarring, cinematic twists and breathless suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat.
When millionaire Paul Wheeler is murdered, his family retains renowned lawyer Derek Mitchell to defend the victim’s nephew Creighton—although the police have not charged the young man with the crime. Wheeler’s mistress Julie Rutledge, who is also a suspect, believes that Creighton is the killer despite his rock-solid alibi, and she’ll do almost anything in her quest to prove his guilt—even ruin Derek’s career. But as Derek learns of Creighton’s darker side, especially his bizarre fascination with movie murders, the more he agrees with Julie’s suspicion. The clock ticks down to a shocking ending as Derek and Julie join forces to find the truth. Has Creighton begun re-enacting cinema’s goriest scenes and, if so, who will be his unwilling co-stars? They won’t know until the final Smash Cut.

"Sometimes I love an SB novel, sometimes I'm only lukewarm on them and sometimes I don't care for them at all. This one is one of her best to date!!! The mystery/ conspiracy element was top notch- right until the end I was still guessing how these two characters were going to get themselves out of the crazy set-up that was being so elaborately staged by the novel's creepy villian. I will say that Ms. Brown did throw in a surprise twist right at the end that unfortunately I did see a mile away (It wasn't a shock and may have been better if she 'revealed' the twist earlier). But overall it was a SOLID effort, the characters were likeable (and in some cases despicable) and it had a great steady pace for me- definitely a page turner. I'd say for me it ties with 'White Hot' as her best book to date."

“Most crime thrillers come from male authors. But with Smash Cut, Sandra Brown shows that she's right up with the best of the boys…[Brown's] dialogue snaps, crackles and pops, and her characters rise above cliché. Smash Cut deserves to be this summer's blockbuster thriller.”
— St. Louis Post-Dispatch“This superlative romantic thriller from bestseller Brown features a particularly memorable villain, sociopath Creighton Wheeler, who's obsessed with re-enacting scenes from films like Strangers on a Train and Frenzy…Multiple smash cuts (abrupt scene shifts) lead to a wonderfully frenzied finish.”
— Publishers Weekly (starred review)“Brown delivers more than a few thrills and surprises in this taut, satisfying page-turner.”
— Booklist“Packed with surprises and the kind of propulsive plot for which Brown is justly famous, this effort will not disappoint her readers.”
— Kirkus Reviews" Ga pernah kecewa dgn novel2 Sandra Brown ^^ "

— Pegysue, 1/19/2014" Plot was good but too much language "
— Laura, 1/15/2014" Murder of Paul Wheeler is not the typical murder mystery because we know "who dun it"; we are just waiting for the police and detectives etc to figure it out. You sure do get to hate the killer; he was creepy. "
— Camandwmm, 1/11/2014" Kept me reading and wondering. Easy read "
— June, 12/31/2013" Ending was not one i wasn't expecting, but not one of my favorites from her. "
— Keely, 12/19/2013" Kept my attention to the end. "
— Laura, 12/17/2013" I absolutely LOVED this book. There was never a dull moment and more twists and turns then I ever saw coming!! And I loved Derek from the moment he went into Julie's gallery with all his sexual innuendos--too funny:) Sandra Smith sure knows how to spin a story and drawn you in!! "

— Schapman, 10/19/2013" Awesome! Totally didn't see it coming like I usually can. "
— Kelley, 10/19/2013" This was another pretty good thriller book. "
— Peggy, 8/30/2013" It was a fast paced romantic suspense. A few of the twists and turns managed to catch me off guard. However, I wasn't a fan of some of the characters. At times, their actions seemed implausible and their motives were underdeveloped. I would still recommend taking this book for a day on the beach. "
— Demetria, 2/14/2013" Loved it! Kept me on the edge of my seat. "
— Naviana, 11/8/2012" I was somewhat disappointed in this book. Sandra Brown's books usually capture me right from the get-go. Smash Cut was a very slow starting book but finally picked up pace almost half-way thru. The book had some twists & turns I didn't expect, so that's why I gave it 3 stars instead of two stars. "
— Ginger, 9/23/2012" Good introduction to a new author (for me). Page turner. "
— Jeanne, 9/21/2012" This book just got better and better as it went on. You could see some of the stuff coming from the story line but the author did a great job of holding the secrets until the end. I really enjoyed this book and it was a great fun read. "
— Stephanie, 7/20/2012" Excellent book. Did not want to put it down. Incredible the way that Creighton managed to trick everyone except Julie. He was one very sick puppy. "
— Merceda, 6/30/2012" It's starting out explosive (literally). Enjoying it so far "
— Susan, 6/15/2012" Good story. The female lead character was a bit annoying. I don't LOVE Sandra Brown enough to run out and read everything she's done, but she stays on my list for when I need a change of pace. "
— Hope, 2/7/2012" Fantastic thriller. Movie buffs will enjoy the famous quotes with Hitchcock lovers having the most fun. <br/>Could not put this book down! "
— Maxine, 5/16/2011" Action-packed, well-written and researched, this was a great read on a rainy day. There were some surprises and twists along the way which helped make this a real page-turner. I think this could be one of Sandra Brown's best! "
— Cindy, 5/6/2011" I always enjoy Sandra Brown's writing style. Her stories flow perfectly and her use of language is always just right. I usually like her books and I did enjoy the characters in "Smashcut." Unfortunately, I had the plot pretty much figured out about half-way through. "
— Connie, 4/9/2011" The end surprised me! I love when that happens :-) "
— Dianne, 4/6/2011" I liked this book but it has so many plot lines that's it's tough to keep up but she pulled it together nicely. I always like it when I learn something new about a different job or lifestyle. "
— Teresa, 3/7/2011" I loved this book! I was on the edge of my seat and never guessed the ending! Quite a thrilling book. "
— Lydia, 3/4/2011" One of the best books I've read in a long time, the ending is one that you will never see coming! "
— Tena, 2/27/2011" It was refreshing to read a mystery where we were pretty sure who the villian was through most of the book, if only they could persuade the Police to consider him as the culpret. I found Maggie's death particularly upsetting. I didin't see the final twist coming at all. "
— Carol, 2/17/2011" Fast read, perfect book for a beach day. "
— Michelle, 2/14/2011" I liked this book. Sandra Brown's books are entertaining and easy to read. This was a really good one. "
— Jenny, 2/10/2011" Stephen King was 100% right, when he said: "If you want romantic suspense that has teeth...Sandra Brown's your gal."<br/><br/>Great author. Great book. <br/>I could never choose a favorite Sandra Brown book...but let's just say if you're a fan...this book does not dissappoint. "
— Veeta, 2/8/2011" Definitely a favorite. This book had so many chilling and thrilling twists and turns; hard to put down. Sandra Brown at her finest! "
