"Mine is a story of craving: an unreliable account of lusts and troubles that began, somehow, in 1956 on the day our free television was delivered...."
Meet Dolores Price. She's 13, wise-mouthed but wounded, having bid her childhood goodbye. Beached like a whale in front of her bedroom TV, she spends the next few years nourishing herself with the Mallomars, potato chips, and Pepsi her anxious mother supplies. When she finally rolls into young womanhood at 257 pounds, Dolores is no stronger and life is no kinder. But this time she's determined to rise to the occasion and give herself one more chance before really going belly-up.
In this extraordinary coming-of-age odyssey, Wally Lamb invites us to hitch a wild ride on a journey of love, pain, renewal with the most heartbreakingly comical heroine to come along in years. At once a fragile girl and a hard-edged cynic, so tough to love yet so inimitably lovable, Dolores is as poignantly real as our own imperfections. She's Come Undone includes a promise: you will never forget Dolores Price.

"This book kept me interested the whole way. I kept on reading because I wanted to see how she dealt with her emotional trauma. In the beginning, Dolores Price has to deal with her parent's relationship problems, and from there her problems become much worse as more bad events happen to her. I enjoyed reading this book because it showed bold character development, and I have enjoyed many other books like that in the past."

— Teri, 4/10/2017" This is really one of my favorite books of all time. It is the dramatic tale of a young girl who repeatedly yanks herself back out of hell, only to fall in again, and yank herself back out. It is a great drama. You will laugh, and cry, and cry some more. A great book for women of all ages, and a very quick read. Wally Lamb is an amazing author, truly all of his books are outstanding. "
— Kelly, 2/12/2014" Like many other of the reviewers, I also disliked this book. It is by far one of the worst books I've ever read. The story of Dolores Price is perhaps one of the most depressing stories ever heard - sadly, there are many Delores Prices around the world. Definetely not a good book to instill self-esteen in today's young generation. As a mother of two daughters, I was appalled to see how Delores' mother was so oblivious to what she was doing to her own child! And how this poor girl had to resort to food and TV in order to have some sort of joy in her life. I am not sure if I would read any other Wally Lamb's books. "
— Mayra, 2/12/2014" One of my favorite books! "
