"My two teenage boys and I listened to this book on a recent trip. They both liked it very much and couldn't wait to hear more of the story. I liked that each character had a different narrator. I would recommend this book for preteen/teenaged kids. We really liked it and it was perfect for our 7 hour trip. "

Quotes

  • “As Chase, Jonathan Todd Ross delivers a thoughtful narration, moving from confusion and bewilderment to growing awareness. While Chase navigates the now unfamiliar terrain of home and school, his parents and classmates, including those who had been on the receiving end of ‘the terror’s’ antics, narrate their own chapters. The two standouts are Ramon de Ocampo as Brandon…and Laura Knight Keating, who convincingly portrays Shoshanna’s transformation from hatred and suspicion of Chase to skepticism, then trust. A hopeful story of redemption told from multiple perspectives.”

    — AudioFile
  • “Despite the strong antibullying theme, the story is never preachy or trite…A fresh approach to the familiar topic of bullying, kept credible by believable characters and events, with typical Korman humor and just the right touch of mystery.”

    — School Library Journal (starred review)
  • “Korman offers an intriguing exploration of the potential for redemption. By telling the story from multiple perspectives, he conveys a complex, thorough picture of Chase’s influence and impact on those around him.”

    — Publishers Weekly
  • “This finding-your-middle-school-identity story explores provocative territory…Korman’s trademark humor makes this an appealing read.”

    — Kirkus Reviews
