"If you are a furry writer, or if you simply enjoy great anthropomorphic fiction, you owe it you yourself to read "Redwall," as well as at least four or five of its sequels. People can complain about the later repetitiveness of the series, but no one can argue that Jacques knew how to write and to craft worlds where his brilliant characters lived."

" When I first started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. The story is really engrossing. It's basically an animal fable. Although I liked the subsequent books in the series they start to follow a formula, and the characters feel determined by their species. "

Brian Jacques has had many professions, including
longshoreman, truck driver, and folk singer. In addition to the vast readership
he has earned with his Redwall novels, Brian has earned a devoted army of
listeners with his weekly radio program on BBC Merseyside. For this recording
Brian himself leads a full cast of actors in bringing to life the adventures of
the inhabitants of Redwall Abbey.
