Magnus is a man of contradictions—a spiritual leader in a warrior's body. To him, laws are for enforcing and visions must be followed—even if that means freeing a beautiful slave and making her his reluctant handmaiden. Betrayed once before, Magnus can barely bring himself to trust another woman. Yet Daenaira's fiery innocence is drawing them both into a reckless inferno of desire.
Daenaira grew up hearing tales of a fearsome priest who seemed more myth than reality. But Magnus is very real— every inch of him—and so is the treachery surrounding them. Beneath Sanctuary's calm surface, an enemy is scheming to unleash havoc on the Shadowdwellers, unless Magnus trusts in a union ordained by fate, and sealed by unending bliss.

"Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!! Magnus is magnificent an Dae is absolutely wild. The passion between them is gut wrenching and an emotional rollercoaster. I was so focused in the storyline as well which was well thought. out and not lacking action in the least. I'm definitely continuing the series!"

The steamy passion Frank is known for takes on an educational edge as the abused heroine discovers her powers. The spicy sex is punctuated with deadly danger, making this one hot [listen].
— Romantic Times" I liked this one better than Ecstasy. More action and the character development seemed more thorough a little. I mean sometimes Dae would do things with stride that I wouldn't think she would do so effortlessly being she's been a slave for so many years. But I'll definitely read the next book, just to see if the bodyguard guy gets it on with the queen chick. Heh, I bet they do. "
— Jeannie, 2/7/2014" Second book in the series. Introduced in the first book, Magnus is the head priest of Sanctuary whose previous handmaiden tried to kill him. He is now lead to a replacement, Daenaira, who has been a slave for eight years. After being tormented for so long she trusts no one and gives as good as she gets. They learn to trust each other and fight side by side. I think I liked this one better than the first book, but again...it would have earned more stars if the love scenes and language were less explicit. I do not believe a priest, of any culture, would use profanity as often as this priest did. "
— Dawn, 2/4/2014" Probably just me but I just had a hard time reading this one. There are times when some genre doesn't appeal. Next month I may read it again and enjoy. "
— Elizabeth, 1/26/2014" Loved this book! I thought Magnus would be kind of boring after reading the Trace story but it was actually a really good book and I ended up really liking Dae. Would recommend this book. "
— Carolyn, 1/18/2014" This series is still too wordy for me overall, but it's a good substitute for the yet unfinished nightwalkers series. Their complicated political system still boggles my mind, but I guess if I can juggle names from the Merry books, I can suffer through remembering all the ins and outs of these. "
— Carrie, 1/11/2014" Hmmm hmm hmm hmm.... See my review of Ecstasy! "
— Katie, 1/6/2014" This book took this series to a whole new level.. Loved it "
— Miranda, 12/26/2013" Can't wait to read the first one and the continuation of the series. "
— Christel, 12/25/2013" This series continues to get better and better. Love the dynamic between Magnus & Dae. Magnus deserves a very strong woman and Jacquelyn Frank did an outstanding job in writing Dae's character to match him toe for toe. Can't wait for the next book! "
— Alyssa, 11/25/2013" On of my very favorites of Frank's so far. An interesting story and super steamy! I think this is a definite improvement from the first book in the series. "
— Annabell, 9/6/2013" BLUSH!!! Still! The intimate scenes are very intimate! However, the romance is a very sweet one and the story is very intriguing! There was less moments where she spent a paragraph explaining things like she did so often in book one though which made it easier to follow for me. "
— Luvmyfamily, 7/4/2013" It was a great book. I love the older men anyways but she was just a great person to read. She was just pushing him to do what he wanted to do and I loved it. When Magnus finally gave in was the best. Great book! "
— Lauren, 6/23/2013" Absoultely loved Rapture! The story was just wonderful, and the passionate interaction between Magnus and Dae was just astounding! Truly a great book, and I simply cannot wait for "Pleasure" to come out next month! "
— Shannon, 5/3/2013" This one annoyed me some even though I liked it . That's probably because the whole priest thing though . Another good series . "
— Ariel, 4/17/2013" I've been enjoying this series up til this book. It wasn't really what I thought it would be. I was hoping for better. But, I'm still glad I read it if that makes any sense. "
— Debbie, 2/20/2013" I definetly liked this book better than the first one. I do find this series a little slower than her Nightwalker series. I liked the strong female character in this book. "
— Michelle, 12/9/2012" Oh la la, hot, spicy, and lots of action of all kinds... "
— Lisa, 11/25/2012" This series is getting so good. I loved Magnus and Dae, there were so many great twists in this book. Emotional, hot and just really good! "
— Teri, 11/11/2012" WOW! I am liking these Shadowdweller books! They are very interesting! I liked Dae and her priest. I am looking forward to Malaya's book! "
— Katie, 11/8/2012" This book was all porn with a very stupid story line. I didn't finish it and when I was reading had the worst feeling EVER! I would like to burn this book. I don't usually read Adult Fiction, so this better not be a sign of what it's all about. For The LOVE!!! "
