#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin—now a major motion picture
An exhilarating political thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Vince Flynn, praised as “the best pure adrenaline-charged action writer out there today” (The Providence Journal).
When Washington, DC’s National Counterterrorism Center is struck by a series of devastating explosions, the results are catastrophic—185 killed, including public officials and CIA employees. Such an act of extreme violence calls for extreme measures—and elite counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp, joining forces with trusted team member Mike Nash, finds himself in the frustrating position of having to illustrate the realities of national security to government officials up in arms over the agents who rushed in to save countless American lives. Meanwhile, with three al Qaeda terrorists still at large and Nash traumatized by the horrors he witnessed during the attack, Rapp must help his friend while threading his way through the naysayers on Capitol Hill—and silently, swiftly, do what he must for the sake of his country and the pursuit of honor.

"Another fun Vince Flynn book! I'm guessing Vince must have read the feedback from readers on Extreme Measures not having enough Mitch Rapp (felt like a Mike Nash spinoff book), because this one was all Mitch!! Right from the first page we were with Mitch and we never moved away from him for very long. The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars is that it was more like a chase than an actual story - really just wrapping up after the aftermath of the previous book. And, I missed spending time with Kennedy in this one, as she was barely present. As is often the case with Vince Flynn books, this one had some eerie similarities with the Boston marathon terrorist attacks. Often when I see horrible things on the news, I think to myself "I hope someone like Mitch Rapp is working in the shadows taking care of business." He is definitely an iconic character."

“Fantastic.”
— Glenn Beck“Flynn demonstrates that he truly understands the psyche of the enemy… Really scary, so realistic.”
— BookReporter.com" The first Vince Flynn book I read was full of action. This one was more conversations. Interesting tho', I listened to this book while hearing were held on Capitol Hill and the book added an interesting perspective. I kinda felt sorry for the Hakeem as a misunderstood terrorist. I wondered if he will end up in another book. "
— Susan, 2/19/2014" This is a well written and fun series.... They have enough twists to keep you involved and read quickly.... Similar to Clive Cussler, or James Rollins..... Great for laying by the pool these summer days... "
— Jeff, 2/18/2014" Not as gripping as his past books. "
— Brooke, 2/16/2014" I've never read Vince Flynn before, but I think I will. I enjoyed this book. "
— Debbie, 2/15/2014" Good action thriller. Audio book is even better than reading- "
— Zelda, 2/4/2014" Another good read from Vince Flynn! Although,he seems to be stuck in a rut with his last few book subjects. They all deal with terriorism. timely but, getting tired of that subject. However, I will continue to read his books as they come out. "
— Tommy, 1/29/2014" A spy story where the spies have real lives. Good drama but not intense. Shuffled around so you could see what the different characters were doing in their plan to bomb numerous American targets at once and still show how the good guys were keeping on top of things but always a step behind. I did enjoy the parts that showed world leading countries cooperating and secreting sharing their intell on suspected terrorists adn cells. "
— Wanda, 1/28/2014" started reading this book on Nov. 4 2010 and finished on the 10th, I couldn't put it down. Good Book! "
— Alvin, 1/26/2014" Great book. A bit different than the rest of the Mitch Rapp series. It picks up almost immediately after "Extreme Measures" and involves the search for the terrorists that committed the attacks in the other book. "
— Tony, 1/12/2014" Vince Flynn is one of the best authors I have ever read. And was the nicest guy in the world when we met him. "
— Alison, 12/31/2013" Counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp tracks down 3 terrorists who blew up a bldg, killing 185 people. "
— Patty, 12/30/2013" This entire 13 book series was spectacular. "
— Jeff, 12/22/2013" A very good book for Flynn although I'm really starting to wonder what is in store for Mitch Rapp?? "
— Chris, 12/11/2013" The weakest read in he series so far, and Flynn is airing his political views way too much which is irrelevant for the story and just annoying. "
— Magnus, 12/9/2013" Like all Vince Flynn books, it's lit candy. If you like Tom Clancy stuff these are good reads. I can usually finish one in a day and I read all of his books in a pretty short time. "
— Steve, 12/7/2013" I love his lack of PC in all his books. Mitch Rapp is my hero. Rapp outs his fellow agent in order to protect his family as he chases the terrorists. "
— Burt, 11/24/2013" A good read if you like CIA novels "
— Jon, 4/30/2013" Typical Mitch Rapp book-kicking butt and taking names. "
— Gail, 12/22/2012" Mitch Rapp returns in another great CIA thriller. As one of my favorite book characters I can only hope our nation has many Rapps to keep us safe. "
— Kay, 12/20/2012" As always, an author and series I can depend on! Fast paced story lines with the ring of possible realities, and a look behind the scenes of the CIA spooks... "
— Amber, 9/9/2012" One of Vince Flynn's best in my opinion. Really enjoyed it. "
— Trent, 8/6/2012" good fast paced -I like Mitch Rabb. "
— Ruth, 7/24/2012" good action as usual. "
— Patti, 7/10/2012" Not as good as some of Flynn's other Mitch Rapp adventures "
— Kathy, 6/29/2012" We have enjoyed several cruises to The Azores, Nassau in the Bahamas and trips to Branson so it was really interesting that these locales were featured in this novel. There are several loose ends dangling at the conclusion of this novel that I expect to be ended in his next novel. "
— Raymond, 6/26/2012" This latest in Flynn's Mitch Rapp series keeps you aware of the real threat of terrorism. It is a great exciting patriotic novel; Mitch Rapp achieves what most of us would like to but cannot because we are normal Americans with more going on in our lives that protecting our nation. "
— Judy, 6/21/2012" Another fine read. The only problem is that there are no more books in the series to read. I can tell the amount of research and thought that Vince Flynn does going into each of these stories. I must say his hard work is definetly rewarded by a great series of novels. "
— Jamie, 4/23/2012" Love it when Rapp gets the bad guys. But Mike Nash... too annoying. I hope Flynn gets rid of him somehow. Whiners don't belong in the business. "
— Tracy, 2/3/2012" I loved this entire series. "
— Michael, 9/3/2011" Another decent entry in this series. I am finding it harder and harder to focus on these books so maybe I'll take a break from them for a while and come back to them if I can. "
— Jc, 5/2/2011" Another very good entry in the Mitch Rapp series. No break in the action, and lots of characters to root for or against. "
— Cheri, 4/27/2011" Senator Clark finally gets what he deserves for trying to kill Mitch in the last book. "
— Matt, 3/29/2011" My favorite of the series so far. "
— Greg, 3/12/2011" I really enjoy Vince Flynn's character, Mitch Rapp. Books are almost always fast-moving and well-paced suspense novels. "
— Cheri, 2/22/2011" Now onto book 3. Love snow days. "
— Dolores, 2/4/2011" Another great Mitch Rapp thriller! This seris is hard to put down, and e-readers make it too easy to buy all the books in the series and just keep reading. "
— Brian, 1/21/2011" Fast paced. Resolved some plot lines that needed trimming. Some of his characters are a bit charactured. "
