"I can give a handful of minor reasons to give this three stars without being overly critical. But this solid book has its share of thoughtful passages and emotion to keep me from doing so. And the fact is that in the eight days it took me to read it, a few of these days I didn't have a chance to read very much or at all. I finished the second half of this in the course of two days and could have easily done it in one had it been a weekend. The plot and suspense really kept me wanting to continue."

" Intriguing and fast read for the first 3/4 of the book. Then, it gets a little slower and stranger. Didn't like the ending, but interesting overall. "
— Jennifer, 2/19/2014" 3.5 stars. This was a quick read and an interesting concept. I especially enjoyed the intrigue surrounding Ethan's visit to Wayward Pines. "
— Andi, 2/14/2014" This was a good read, the first part of it was seriously unnerving when the main character, Ethan was stuck in this quaint little town, that was more like Stepford-ville. Then it got a bit long and boring for a few chapters, then it got good again. I completely understand why it got long and boring for the few chapters after the "escape" but I lose interest in a book if i have to fly through chapters to find a good part to start at again. Unlike Blakes previous books, this one did not go for the throat, this one just kept dancing around the point. I think there was a whole chapter explaining how the main character was stuck in a really long air duct, which can be horrifying but does it really need a whole chapter? There were also a few flashbacks that got me sort of confused as to why they were where they were in the book, they were almost out of no where. All in all, it was a good book, not one of my favorite Black Crouch books but I did finish it. Also the end was very good complete surprise! "
— Jaded, 2/2/2014" Did really enjoy this book and it had me hooked, reading it non-stop, but some things just didn't sit we'll or make sense to me with the ending revelation. Loved it just wish the ending was a bit different. "
— Ric, 1/15/2014" In the end, I would make the same choice as Ethan. "

— Adam, 11/23/2013" This is one of those "find out something really crazy in the very end" books. I read it a while ago and liked it, can't remember if there is anything bad in it. The secret at the end is pretty cool. "
— Matt, 11/18/2013" Another non stop action thriller from Mr. Crouch. This book is streamlined to the max and jumps genres from one scene to the next. Excellent read from a real talent. "
— Joe, 11/5/2013" Fun, quick read. I definitely enjoyed the style of writing. The ending was a bit confusing but all in all the story was captivating and it kept me on the edge of my seat. "

— Chrisbeer84, 7/16/2013" After a slowish start this book really took off and turned into a real page turner. I just wanted to keep on reading so I could get to what was behind the mystery. Parts of this book reminded me a lot of Koontz at times. I shall have to read more of this mans work. "
