Philippa is excited to spend Christmas break with her friend Robyn, but she has no idea just how much excitement awaits. When a magic spell carved on a mysterious circle of rocks suddenly transports Philippa to fairy godmother headquarters, she learns that her own mother is in danger. To protect her from a serious accident, Philippa must pretend to be a fairy, while Daisy, her fairy godsister, returns to earth in human guise. And that's just the beginning of their adventure: after passing a harrowing test of their loyalty to each other, Philippa and Daisy undergo a fantastic journey to rescue a lost fairy who has devoted her powers to maintaining the portal of the stone circle. With time running out, and the worlds of humans and fairies at risk of being severed, Daisy finds herself facing an extraordinary choice that has the power to change her life forever.

" This book is the 2nd book in the Phillippa Fisher series and it is full of suprises! The things that you would think have nothing to do with each other are the things that have the most to do with each other! I would recomend this book to girls who have read the first book in the series and girls who enjoy the Emily Windsnap books.I would recmend the series to girls who are 9-13.:) "

" Honestly, I'm very surprised this book has better ratings than Liz Kessler's other book: The Tail of Emily Windsnap. All in all, the book was ok, but there were some parts I found annoying. The first issue is this book starts out REALLY SLOW. I put it down for a few months because I got so bored of the beginning where they pretty much do nothing but describe the woods, and then throw in the butterfly. Then, the rest of the book is pretty much ruined because the surprise plot is given away in the title. The last thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the presentation of the girls' friendship, which was basically a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship without the romance. If you really enjoy "Magic of Friendship" or fairy books, or if you just want to finish the series, it's worth reading, but be aware: it's the awkward second book that falls below expectations. "

" 4.5 stars. A bit more complicated and somber plot than the first book, and we didn't get to see Phillipa interact with her fairy friend as much as before. That was the charm of book one. Still a fun read though, and I'm looking forward to starting book three soon. "

About the Author
Author Liz KesslerLiz Kessler's first book, The Tail of Emily Windsnap, was published in ten countries. Of Emily Windsnap and Monster from the Deep, she says, "I always knew that Emily's story wasn't finished at the end of the first book. I really wanted to explore the idea of an island where humans and merfolk lived together in peace. I also knew that there was a detail I was missing. Then I happened to see an in-flight video about a theme park with a ride called the Kraken, and I instantly knew that this creature was the missing ingredient." Liz Kessler lives on a canal boat in the countryside just outside Manchester, England, where she is working on her third book, Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist.
