" Even though this one is #1 in the series, I feel like there was a lot of the story that was missing. I was very lost within the first 100 pages. They kept talking about events that happened a couple of months ago and how it related to what was happening now, but didn't do a good job to describe those events and the people involved. There was a lot of action, but it seemed like you were always a step behind. There were so many players and at times it was hard to keep them all straight. In the end I was very underwhelmed by this book and sad at that as I had high hopes for it. "

" I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. It started out a little slow and wasn't what I was expecting from the author as it's different than the other books I've read from her. As I got into it I really enjoyed it and it left you really wanting to read the next one. There is so much about the characters still to learn. "

Her independent 'fuck you' attitude is similar to that of Dante Valentine (Created by Lilith Saintcrow) It felt like I was reading a watered down version of Saintcrow's work. It was fast-paced and in the whole 432 few things really happen. The lack of explanation pissed in the hand that feeds it. Most of the time I had to make up my own explanations to the very frequent missing links. "
