“World-class nail-biter . . . [Allison] Brennan is in the groove with this one.”—Lee Child Six years ago, Lucy Kincaid was attacked and nearly killed by an online predator. She survived. Her attacker did not. Now Lucy’s goal is to join the FBI and fight cyber-crime, but in the meantime, she’s volunteering with a victim’s rights group, surfing the Web undercover to lure sex offenders into the hands of the law. But when the predators she hunts start turning up as murder victims, the FBI takes a whole new interest in Lucy. With her future and possibly even her freedom suddenly in jeopardy, Lucy discovers she’s a pawn in someone’s twisted plot to mete out vigilante justice. She joins forces with security expert and daredevil Sean Rogan, and together they track their elusive quarry from anonymous online chat rooms onto the mean streets of Washington, D.C. But someone else is shadowing them: A merciless stalker has his savage eye on Lucy. The only way for her to escape his brutality may be another fight to the death.

"I liked the relationship between Lucy and Sean and how it progresses slowly. Sean went very gently with her due to her history, which I think was covered in one of the earlier Allison Brennan books that I haven't read. I think a lot of Allison Brennan books link together with characters from one going into others, but I decided to start here since it was the first one where Lucy Kincaid was the main character"

" I liked this book, it was fun to read and I liked the characters. There were some points in the book where determining who was speaking was tough and you had to wait for the que but overall it was a book I liked. "
— Ashley, 2/17/2014" May contain a spoiler. 3 stars just because I finished it, and even though I knew she would be ok, I found myself rushing to read on. Had some of the intensity of a James Patterson The solo anonymous diabolical observer. A great treat, considering I have a growing list of stopped in the middle books. Why not 5 stars. The flowers. They should have double ID'd who sent the flowers. I find it detracting to make such a blatant mistake which I saw at the time Same as in grade c horror films. Nevertheless I kept rushing to read on to see the details Anyway thanks Allison Brennan for the surprise read. It was my introduction to your work. "
— Jeff, 2/4/2014" I love that Allison Brennan is finally doing a series with Lucy Kincaid. Lucy had a horrific experience in one of Allison's other books and it was great to see her get a chance to move on with her life and for us to get to experience it. Sean Rogan is a great hero and worthy of Lucy in every way. "
— Jill, 1/25/2014" I liked the pace and the tension in this story. I look forward to reading additional books in this series. "

— Sandra, 12/12/2013" 3.5 STARS...the first half was a little boring, but the middle to end was much better. "
— Rebecca, 12/8/2013" Really good! A great different criminal thriller told from a victims perspective-a victim who is no longer a victim.I will continue to follow this series. it is very explicit in it's violence-beware! "
— Sonya, 12/6/2013" Began this book, and cannot finish it. Too graphic and sensationalist for me. "

— Samantha, 5/23/2013" Lucy Kincaid is my hero, she is such a brave woman to take onthe world after everything that has happened to her. This is a book you don't want to put down, it keeps you interested all the way up to the end. "
— Tina, 2/11/2013" It was okay but not as riveting as some of the other suspense authors. Don't think I will read any of hers again. "
— Laurie, 8/4/2012" Lucy comes from a family of cops but will her abduction and rape when she was about 19 keep her out of the FBI? Depends on how she reacts when one of her abductors gets out of prison and is found dead not far from Lucy's new home. "
— Joyce, 7/7/2012" I liked Lucy in her first appearance and am glad to see her not only surviving her horrible rape and near murder but thriving in her life and finding friendship and love. "
— Michele, 11/19/2011" It was Ok. I read second book first so I kinda knew what was going to happen in this one. "
