"If you enjoy suspense/thrillers with multiple twists, turns and secrets...set against politics and the DC arena...then I recommend this book to you. Silenced by Allison Brennan is part of the Lucy Kincaid series (I'm still trying to figure out the order of the books...but know that Stalked and Stolen come out later this year)but Silenced isn't a standalone read. I think it probably helps to read the other books in the series first to gain a better understanding regarding the characters. I started with Silenced and at times wish I had more information/background regarding Lucy and Sean. However, this didn't keep me from plowing forward or finishing the book. I plan to go back and read other books in the series as Brennan is an engaging writer to me. I like that she writes about strong, independent female characters (for the most part) and doesn't have a problem putting men in their place (I'm a feminist...so shoot me...lol)."

“The evolution of Lucy Kincaid from former victim to instinctive and talented agent continues in Brennan's new heart-stopping thriller. . .From first to last, this story grabs hold and never lets go.
— RT Book Reviews (Top Pick)Brennan throws a lot of story lines into the air and juggles them like a master. The mystery proves to be both compelling and complex. . .[A] chilling and twisty romantic suspense gem.
— Associated Press" Good book and now I have to wait till the Fall for her next to be published. "
— Kay, 2/20/2014" It was ok. But here I am, fewer than 24 hours since I finished it, and I cannot remember what it was about. Okay, putting thinking/memory cap on. Oh yeah, about ruthless killers out to effect the demise of some young prostitutes pursued by FBI agents and a young wannabe criminal analyst who keeps getting her self esteem battered by her mentor. Meh! It was, as I said, just okay. I usually enjoy this author's books a lot more. "
— Sophie, 2/15/2014" Very good book. I enjoyed it so much, I just ordered another Lucy Kincaid book today. I never read this author before. I would not hesitate to read more from this author or any other authors that might be similar. The book was a very quick read. I like narratives that move quickly and don't bog you down with details. I did notice a few errors in it, but they weren't that noticeable, and I just pretty much ignored them. I suppose no matter what format of book you publish, print or digital, you will not catch all errors all the time. But like I said they're were very few of them. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good crime story. "
— Jamie, 2/8/2014" Loved this book. I'm so hooked on the Lucy Kincaid series. So far my favorite books are number 2 (Kiss Me, Kill Me) and this book, but I've enjoyed them all. I really feel like I'm part of Lucy's world when I read. I'm a huge fan of having a big cast of characters, and Allison has a seamless way of putting it all together. Can't wait for Stalked. "
— Rachel, 2/1/2014" Love Lucy Kincaid!! Every book gets better and better!! "
— Darla, 1/16/2014" Hmm, I liked it, but not as much as the previous Lucy Kincaid books. The mystery for me was just so-so, and I don't care for the direction the relationship between Sean and Lucy took here. Sean is not being as honest as I'd like him to be....I know he's just trying to protect her, but honesty is a big thing for me, and I know for Lucy as well. I'm very worried there will be some triangle-ness with Noah sometime in the future, and I just don't want any part of it. Think I will check out the reviews for the next book before I read it to see if I can spot any signs of relationship deterioration. That's when I'm usually done with a series. "
— ~Megan~, 1/9/2014" I'm a huge fan of The Lucy Kincaid books and this book didn't let me down at all..A wonderful suspense/thriller that hooked me from page one to the last page and leaves me wanting it to just continue..Hate waiting for the next book.. "
— Karen, 1/3/2014" I love Allison Brennan. There seemed to be more loose ends in this book than some of her earlier ones. I hopeful they will be tied up in the next two in the series. Still well worth a read. "
— Toni, 12/27/2013" 4.5. Another great read. "
— Gailz, 12/13/2013" Another good one!! I love this series. "
— Stacy, 12/6/2013" Great read with a bit too much cliche. "
— Judith, 11/21/2013" These books are addicting, they keep you guessing! "
— Kelley, 11/14/2013" I really like the Lucy Kincaid series. Sometmes I think it's a little too technical for me, but I really enjoy the characters and the plot! Looking forward to the next one :) "
— Danielle, 10/12/2013" I found this book difficult to get into. I persevered, though, and finished it, but it felt unsatisfactory. Maybe too much politics, I don't exactly why. Some books just don't resonate with me. "
— Gevera, 9/16/2013" good story line but probably should read other Kincaid books to get the true meaning of the book "
— Judith, 9/14/2013" Not my fav of this series but a good read. "
— Cindi, 9/13/2013" More Lucy adventures. Enjoyed it. "
— Greg, 9/3/2013" This was yet another good story in the series. I found some of the ending a bit confusing, but I'm guessing my questions will be answered in the next two books. All in all, it was an easy read and an engaging story line. "
— Dawn, 7/12/2013" Good reading and holds ones interest. But this is a usual state for Allison Brennan "
— Dorothy, 7/6/2013" great book, this is an exciting new author i've started reading. new to me that is. "
— Bonnie, 5/4/2013" Very good book. The story was thrilling and complex. I do think you will appreciate the book if you have read the others in the series before reading this one. "
— Holly, 4/15/2013" This book was slow going for me. Jumped between characters too fast and not fluid. But stuck with it because I want to know how it ends. I think it would have been better to read the pervious books to know what was talked about in this one "
— Bridget, 4/11/2013" I loved this book! Loved the characters and I love Lucy and Sean.. They are so good together! Enjoyed this book immensely...Lots of deception and lies! Great read! "
— Kathy, 4/11/2013" I like Brennan's writing style, and I thought the pace of the book moved swiftly enough, but this book just didn't draw me in as much as some of her earlier novels. The plot was good and interesting, and I liked how everything fit together in the end. "
— Ellen, 3/13/2013" Love a Lucy-Sean book! Brennan never disappoints. "
