Popular children's author Katherine Applegate launches an entertaining new series featuring Roscoe Riley, a good-natured first grader whose own rules can't keep him out of mischief. In his first adventure, Roscoe shares a simple rule: Never glue your friends to chairs. But when he finds a bottle of Super-Mega-Gonzo glue in the junk drawer at home, he can't resist tossing it in his backpack and taking it to school.

"Roscoe and his classmates remind me of some first graders I know, which had me chuckling as I read. This would be a good read-aloud, especially with young readers who are reluctant to make that transition from picture books to chapter books. I think they'd want to read Roscoe's further adventures."

" This book is funny. hahahaha "
— Emma, 2/19/2014" For anyone with kids I LOVED these books. I read them to my kids and probably laughed more than they did although they loved them too. I don't think they caught all the sarcastic humor but thought these were really funny. "

— Courtney, 1/14/2014" A few questionable words for read alouds - but entertaining book that I'm sure will make an engaging read aloud. "
— Laura, 12/15/2013" Love Roscoe! His humor, mischief, and good intentions are very much like a male Junie B. Genuinely funny and enjoyable. "
— Morgan, 12/9/2013" This title made me laugh because of a middle school escapade that I had with one of my best friends and super gluing a bottle rocket to a table. "
— Rachel, 11/22/2013" The equivalent of Junie B Jones for boys, (except his grammar is much better), Roscoe is also in first grade and also has a nose for trouble. Funny stories about him, his family life, and the kids and teacher in his school. For those who have read all the Captain Underpants. "
— B, 9/28/2013" a great first chapter series highly underestimate by the pub community....lots going on in this series....great for both boys and girls even with a male protag. "
— Mr., 9/11/2013" Very funny book about a first grader named Roscoe. He is always getting in trouble, even though he tries to remember all of the rules. (This book opens with him in the timeout corner) A great series to get early readers hooked on! "
— Kim, 7/8/2013" Roscoe is a young first grade boy who is only trying to help a bad situation for his new young teacher get better and go smoothly. Well Roscoe's idea back fires!!! Very funny story told in Roscoe' s own voice!! Young boys would enjoy this story. "

— Molly, 9/19/2012" Well-meaning Roscoe Riley sure does get himself into some strange situations! I expected not to like this book--I expected it to glamorize bad behavior, maybe, or just fall flat of realism--but I did. Very much! "

— Nick, 10/13/2011" Gook first chapter book for boys or kids who like humor books. Not the best writing but I can see why kids would love these! Veyr funny about a little trouble maker who thinks he is only helping. He always starts out in time out. "
— Jen, 8/9/2011" A funny chapter book about how a boy learns about why you shouldn't glue your friends to chairs using Super-Mega-Gonzo Glue. The book teaches children that even though they might have good intentions, they need to always consult an adult before using adult objects. "
— Kristin, 7/1/2011" Proves the point that just because it's for a young reader doesn't mean you can't love it. And I did. "
