" The equivalent of Junie B Jones for boys, (except his grammar is much better), Roscoe is also in first grade and also has a nose for trouble. Funny stories about him, his family life, and the kids and teacher in his school. For those who have read all the Captain Underpants. "

" Roscoe and his classmates remind me of some first graders I know, which had me chuckling as I read. This would be a good read-aloud, especially with young readers who are reluctant to make that transition from picture books to chapter books. I think they'd want to read Roscoe's further adventures. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Molly | 9/19/2012

" Well-meaning Roscoe Riley sure does get himself into some strange situations! I expected not to like this book--I expected it to glamorize bad behavior, maybe, or just fall flat of realism--but I did. Very much! "
