Publisher Description

With Eve and Adam, authors Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant team up to create a thrilling story. In the beginning, there was an apple – And then there was a car crash, a horrible injury, and a hospital. But before Evening Spiker's head clears a strange boy named Solo is rushing her to her mother's research facility. There, under the best care available, Eve is left alone to heal. Just when Eve thinks she will die – not from her injuries, but from boredom—her mother gives her a special project: Create the perfect boy. Using an amazingly detailed simulation, Eve starts building a boy from the ground up. Eve is creating Adam. And he will be just perfect . . . won't he?

"Caught my attention in the first paragraph. Loved it. You will need to let a few things pass, questions you may have about the how of adam, but really get over it. The story works brilliantly without getting all scientific. Fast becoming a fan of Katherine Applegate."

" I'll admit I had really high expectations because I love the work of both Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate. This fell just a little bit short. It took so long to get to the creation of Adam, that I struggled really getting into a good groove with this one. And then, it's like he just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I had to go back and re-read to see how he and Eve even found each other. I was glad, however, that the story ended, albeit a little quickly and tidily. I was really feeling that there was no way the story could end and it would just be setting up a sequel. "

" I really enjoyed this book and am enthusiastically waiting for the next one! I enjoyed the many twists and red herrings in the plot, and I thoroughly enjoyed the take on science, creation, and the responsibility involved in both. "
