"As usual Mrs. P is put into a supposedly harmless mission that she should be safe doing but from the get she is in trouble. It's a familiar formula for Mrs. P but it works, I've never disliked a Mrs. P book and I doubt with only four left in the series that I'll find one I don't like. They are like your favorite old thread bare but comfortable sweatshirt or mashed potatoes and gravy, they are familiar and comfortable, and comforting for that matter. It gets a five out of five and I'll continue to resist reading all of the rest of them in one setting so I can look forward to at least a few more adventures with Mrs. P."

“This spirited mystery…shows the kindly grandmother at her steel-edged and resourceful best…Well crafted, richly detailed and eminently suspenseful.”
— Publishers Weekly“Breakneck adventure and suspense are enhanced by insight into eastern culture and characters. This fast-paced armchair excursion into the exotic world of North Africa is equally entertaining for first-time readers of Mrs. Pollifax and her long-time fans.”
— School Library Journal" Excellent descriptions and presentation of terrain and different culture. Mrs. Pollifax treks across Morroco, first with an imposter, and then on the run from Moroccan police as the supposed murderer of the imposter. Good blend of chase cultural revelations and mystery. "
— Kae, 2/10/2014" I just really liked it. They are fun and light little adventures. "
— Alison, 2/2/2014" Loved the big twist here, and how smart Mrs. Pollifax is. An enjoyable read. "
— Maggie, 1/25/2014" YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS HEROINE. READ ALL THE POLLIFAX NOVELS. SHE IS TOTALLY COOL. A CROSS BETWEEN HERCULE POIROT (ACE MAN!) AND MISS MARPLE: WITH A DASH OF 'MURDER SHE WROTE'... GREAT STUFF! "
— Sherri, 1/20/2014" For some reason I was not able to get into this book. I did finish it, but I don't think it was as strong as the previous books. "
— Sarah, 1/6/2014" I think this is my favorite Mrs. Pollifax book "
— Em7ar7, 12/25/2013" I love this series! You just have to adore Mrs. Pollifax and her quirky manner! This was another enjoyable one! The only bad thing I have to say about it, was that it seemed a rather abrupt ending! "
— Heather, 12/16/2013" This is another exciting Mrs. Pollifax book. It is always good to know there is at least one more to read so I know for sure she survived her adventures. "
— Julie, 12/11/2013" enjoyed but wasn't as quirky as i like my mysteries to be "
— Psirene, 11/27/2013" Mrs. Pollifax and the Whirling Dervish by Dorothy Gilman (1990) "
— Laura, 11/26/2013" i can't believe i read this even after having read one already "
— Jake, 11/26/2013" This book was great fun. Mrs Pollifax heads to Morocco, and as usual, adventure ensues. The previous few books in the series had seemed very dark, so it was nice to have a light-hearted adventure again. "
— Carrie, 9/13/2013" My dad introduced me to the Mrs. Pollifax series awhile back. It's an old series - about a Grandma who becomes a spy - SOO fun and full of interesting info! I got them all and loved them! (= "
— Shena, 9/9/2013" This was a fine read for what it was. Very easy to read, simplistic story, and crazy circumstances. Not a deep or particularly intellectual read, but very enjoyable after studying biomes and cells for 5th grade science! :) "
— M, 7/22/2013" #9 Mrs. Pollifax in Morocco "
— Lucy, 7/10/2013" This series is great fun. Each book makes me feel like I went on a great adventure with Mrs. Pollifax. "
— Kimmie, 5/11/2013" Mrs. Pollifax strikes again! I like her eventual companion much more than her original one. "
— Ayelet, 3/18/2013" Seriously, when is Mrs. Pollifax going to stop believing Bishop and Carstairs when they tell her that she is on a "simple" mission and there will be no foreseeable problems?! ha ha Well, I guess if she stopped believing, there would be no more Mrs. Pollifax, so I say ignorance is bliss...for me! "
— Christina, 3/11/2013" I've found a new mystery character that I enjoy. She is smart and gutsy and underestimated by those around her. "
— Michele, 2/22/2013" Loved learning about each country Mrs. Polifax visits. Good imagery when describing the whirling dervish. A good read. "
— Kathy, 11/2/2012" I can't quit saying that Mrs. Pollifax is both a spy thriller and a cozy. Seems weird, but it's true. Much more than either. "
