"Lots of fun reading about how Miss Julia solves the case in spite of the private detective she hires, and in spite of the federal investigators working on the case. A delightful opportunity to get to know Miss Wiggins better, and Lloyd is his usual precious insightful self. I missed more of Sam, Hazel Marie and Mr. Pickens, and Lillian gets less attention as well. But, a fun read nevertheless, and of course I've already started the next!"

“Ross allows the reader to laugh gently at feisty, opinionated Miss Julia while thoroughly enjoying the view through her eyes.”
— Booklist" The heroine of this series is eccentric but smart. She is prickly but has solid relationships with a few key people. She respects intelligence but has little patience for people who are inconsiderate, take shortcuts or do not use their brains. I find her amusing and the plots nicely woven. "
— Clare, 2/20/2014" I enjoyed this fun story. I enjoyed this as an audiobook and the fact that the narrator sounds like Blanche from Golden Girls just made it that much better :) "

— Danielle, 1/12/2014" This was a fun book to read. It is just a cute story. It is the first of her books I have read and she obviously has written a bunch of books about the character in this book. It's just a quick fun read. Just right for vacation reading. "

— Kim, 12/28/2013" I hope if I live to be elderly, I am as feisty and outspoken as Miss Julia. I listened to this book and the narrator's voice was perfect. There were times I was laughing right out loud. Sometimes you just need a book to be entertaining, and this was such a book. "
— Kathy, 12/19/2013" I just finished this book and it had me rolling! Miss Julia is CRAZY! "
— Melissa, 12/13/2013" This was probably my least favorite of the series so far. The situations were hard to believe considering the age of the "heroine". "

— Gaye, 10/9/2013" eh...it was alright, easy to read..... "
— Alexa, 9/10/2013" I hadn't read this series for a while, and really enjoyed picking it up again. Past details of the inter-relationships came back to me as the story moved along, and it had a bit of that "crazy Florida" flavor. "

— Elaine, 4/5/2013" good, quick easy read. not my favorite Miss Julia book "
— Steph, 3/14/2013" The ending was pretty good, but it was a long slog getting there; the book was driven mostly by the (Florida) setting and situation details, rather than plot or character. "

— Bunny, 8/16/2011" I learned that when we do our best to follow the Gospel, the Lord steps in and helps us accomplish our tasks and blesses us with what He knows is best for us, even when we are not perfect. Also, our example can have a profound influence for good on those around us. "

— Ginger, 5/6/2011" Miss Julia stories are always fun, although this was probably my least favorite. Miss Julia is almost scary at times in her almost militant handling of the alcoholic detective she hires. Favorite scene is Miss Julia's first trip to Target and her first purchase of pants! "
— Dona, 2/28/2011" Needed a no-brainer to read and sometimes enjoy Miss Julia. Didn't really like this one - too far-fetched. Miss the feel of the town. "

— Peggy, 1/3/2011" This is a cute, fun, quick read. "
— Elaine, 12/29/2010" I've listened to all these books on audio and enjoy them so much. Miss Julia is a spit-fire and opinionated but has such a good heart, when she isn't judging everyone! I enjoy the person who does the audio. Maybe that is half the fun. "
— Vicky, 8/2/2010" I learned that when we do our best to follow the Gospel, the Lord steps in and helps us accomplish our tasks and blesses us with what He knows is best for us, even when we are not perfect. Also, our example can have a profound influence for good on those around us. "
