"I very much enjoyed this book. It left me at the end with the feeling of warmth after one finishes a very satisfying book. I was unaware that this was part of a series, (figures this is the last...), but I liked it very much and do want to read the others."

An elegant stylist, Paxson captures the awe, tragedy and resounding mystery of ancient Britain and mist-enshrouded Atlantis.
— Publishers Weekly" Bom. Deu vontade de ler "As Brumas..." de novo. "
— Tininha_sou_eu, 2/3/2014" I really enjoyed this book. If you are like me and fasinated with the legend of Avalon this book did a really good job of explaining a how it all began. It was written well, very discriptive without going overboard. "
— Barbara, 1/18/2014" Though I'm impressed that Paxson utilized Zimmer Bradley's vision for this title, it is the weakest of the series. I was so disappointed because the main love story (Tiriki and Micail) was weak. The underlying female strength and spirituality that is usually in the Avalon books is missing. Even the description of place and landscape that I've loved so much in these novels seems to not be present. I didn't feel that this prequel left me with a foundation to be more enlightened regarding the other Avalon titles. Paxson did do a great job with the other post-Mists of Avalon titles (Lady of Avalon, etc.) however and so do read those! "
— Cara, 1/16/2014" Started out a little slow but I really enjoyed it. Interesting to read about the lost city of Atlantis. The end really made me want to read more of the series. "
— Joni, 1/10/2014" i decided not to finish this book because to me it wasn't as good at other books i've read in this series. "
— Jessica, 1/5/2014" couldnt finish tho... kinda super boring.... "
— Ariadne, 1/5/2014" Not as horrid as Priestess but nowhere near as good as any of Bradley's actual works. "
— Heina, 10/3/2013" It is nice to finally find out who Tiriki and Micail were. :o) I can't wait to read the rest of this series. "
— Eniko, 8/26/2013" Not as good as MIst's, but still magical "
— Elizabeth, 7/25/2013" Not nearly as great as Mists, but still a good read. "
— Nicole, 7/19/2013" It was just too different from the rest of the Avalon series. I put it down after 3 chapters of trying to familiarize myself with the characters with overly complicated names. I couldn't get it sorted out...too difficult to keep up with. "
— Anna, 12/16/2012" Very different but in a good way. "
— Heather, 12/15/2012" Like all of MZB's books: amazing. "
— Chainelle, 7/18/2012" Love the Avalon books. Great series. "
— Alexis, 5/30/2012" A bit easy to get bogged down in all of the names/places but still fun to follow this series! "
— Trever, 5/5/2012" great to see begining of avalon. "
— Sarah, 2/11/2012" Other than the mists of Avalon, this was my favorite in the series. My heart ached, but felt the passion of life and the fear of the unknown. When it was over all I wanted was more. I loved it! "
— Kristyn, 9/11/2011" I wish I'd had a better sense of the chronology of these stories before I began reading them. I'd have read this first, since Avalon begins with it's ancestors from "the drowned lands" of Atlantis. Good reading. "
— Heidi, 4/12/2011" It was so hard for me to get through this book. I am glad I did as it showed the origins of Morgan, Merlin, and the Tor, but it really was a struggle to make it that far. "
