Publisher Description

Six months ago, if anyone would have told Em Johnson she'd end up divorced, broke, and running the dilapidated Tiki Goddess Bar on the magical North Shore of Kauai she would have told them to shove a swizzle stick up their okole.

As if all that isn't bad enough, when an obnoxious neighbor with a grudge is found dead in the Goddess luau pit, suspicion falls on Em and the rest of the Goddess staff. With the help of a quirky dance troupe of over-the-hill Hula Maidens, Em and the cast of characters must ban together to find the killer and solve the mystery before the next pupu party.

Jill Marie Landis has written over 25 novels, which have earned awards and slots on such national bestseller lists as the USA Today Top 50 and the New York Times Best Sellers Plus. She is a seven-time finalist for Romance Writers of America's RITA Award in both Single Title and Contemporary Romance as well as a Golden Heart and RITA Award winner. She's written historical and contemporary romance as well as inspirational historical romance, and she is now penning The Tiki Goddess Mystery Series, which begins with Mai Tai One On.

"A very good start on a new series set in Hawai'i called 'The Tiki Goddess Mysteries', this has the right ingredients for a delicious read. Em Johnson is broke, divorced, and barely hanging on while she helps her aging uncle keep his Tiki Bar afloat. On luau night, the guests discover a body roasting in the imu, or luau pit, and the adventure takes off from there. There are zany characters like the over-the-hill Hula Maidens, evil ones that shall not be named (in the interest of not spoiling the story), and innocent ones who have bad things happen to them. There are red herrings amid the lush jungle setting and the whole is a good read. A promising new debut with a fun cover plus drink recipes!"

" I bought this book for my Kindle as it was on sale on Amazon.com. It's an easy read, very super duper light, but it's one that I'll take the time to finish . . . "

" Ok...yes...I read it...don't judge me. I needed something light and fluffy and that is exactly what Landis supplied. It was funny but more of a smirk or chuckle funny than the guffaws janet evanovich provides. In fact, i was thinking this was more of an Evanovich knock off than a creative new approach to a series. She even is using the 'number' angle in the titles that JE uses. Landis has a good premise but she doesn't deliver like JE does. Still...I was interested enough that I bought book two...Two to Mango. I mean really...it's summer..... "

" Fun mystery that takes place on Kauai with a parrot named David Letterman who tests tropical drink concoctions and a bunch of over the hill hula dancers. It's strictly fluff but fun and a fast read while waiting for books to come off reserve at the library. "

" Good start to a new series. Very funny. Too many characters to keep up with, though. Mystery was a little thin in places. The culprit was fairly obvious. Still enjoyable, though. "

" Just could not get into this one. Too many people really wanted the character dead, I could not figure out who I should identify with, and the setting didn't do it for me--even the old-lady hula girls. And I really want to like this. may try it again. "
