"A beautiful story about a woman who had a tragic upbringing. While this book doesn't have the hot, steamy scenes of many romance novels, the story itself is very compelling and the characters are wonderful. My heart was constantly breaking when I thought about what Laura had experienced and lived through. While all of the secrets being kept can get frustrating at times, I can't say I would have done anything different in that situation. This is a great story proving that our past doesn't define who we are today and who we can become in the future."

" I didn't get much out of this book except for "Let he who is without sin shall cast the first stone." I liked the unexpected character, I did not see that one coming. Ending was good, but I don't have any strong feelings toward it. "
— Amanda, 2/20/2014" At first this book was sort of meh, but by the end I really cared about the characters and although it's extremely predictable and I've read a story similar to this I enjoyed it. I will be reading g the next book. "
— Cindy, 2/19/2014" Love it so far... so sad to hear this tale... but I can't wait to see how it ends. "
— Kerri, 2/6/2014" This was a free Kindle book from Amazon. I had just read another book by this author, so was interested. Laura Foster has given up her life as a prostitute and is posing as a wealthy widow running a boarding house. She meets and falls for the local preacher. Good western read. "
— Jeanne, 1/17/2014" Dull writing and too many cliches. "
— Angelique, 12/12/2013" i am not sure I like it, after thinking about it for a day. The heroine was not believable. It was a great adventure. I think if I put it down for a day I would have had trouble going back to it, but on a sleepless night, it was fine. "
— Mum, 12/8/2013" Some of the components of this story were unique, but others were cliche. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. "
— Lisa, 11/12/2013" Very well written and engaging story. "
— Abby, 10/3/2013" I really enjoyed the storyline. I keep looking for books set in the U.S. before 1900-hard to find. It was a tad religious for me. I thought it was a historical romance when I picked it up, but the storyline and characters kept me with it. A very sweet read. "
— Shelly, 8/23/2013" I loved this book. It dealt with a lady who had a horrid past. She makes poor choices as an adult and then decides she wants better for herself and changes her path. Very heartwarming in that it showed how people can change and how we shouldn't judge. I really liked it! "
— mom2wah, 12/30/2012" really liked this book can't wait to read the next one "

— Mitzi, 1/23/2012" How many times do we put on our judgmental attitudes and attribute that to being righteous? This premise has been done before, but it mostly held my interest, and there was even a twist thrown in. "
— June, 11/15/2011" Very good can't wait for the next one "
— Stephany, 10/2/2011" I've read worse! "

— Lisa, 2/24/2011" Inspirational historical romance. Very well written. Had just a tad too much ‘sugar’, though. Strong heroine. "
— Zaanodes, 2/24/2011" This book was well-written, but as in many romances was full of completely unbelievable characterization. I still enjoyed it, but I wouldn't seek out the subsequent novels unless Amazon also makes those freebies. "
