But even after four years of posing as a respectable widow in Glory, Texas, she is always afraid someone from her past might reveal her true identity.Believing no man could love her if he knew the truth, Laura tries to resist Brand’s courtship. His reputation would be shattered if Laura’s former life is discovered. But it’s not only Laura’s past that threatens to bring him down—it’s also his own. As they open their hearts to love and faith, will Laura and Brand find the depth and power of forgiveness from their community?

"A beautiful story about a woman who had a tragic upbringing. While this book doesn't have the hot, steamy scenes of many romance novels, the story itself is very compelling and the characters are wonderful. My heart was constantly breaking when I thought about what Laura had experienced and lived through. While all of the secrets being kept can get frustrating at times, I can't say I would have done anything different in that situation. This is a great story proving that our past doesn't define who we are today and who we can become in the future."

" I didn't get much out of this book except for "Let he who is without sin shall cast the first stone." I liked the unexpected character, I did not see that one coming. Ending was good, but I don't have any strong feelings toward it. "

" At first this book was sort of meh, but by the end I really cared about the characters and although it's extremely predictable and I've read a story similar to this I enjoyed it. I will be reading g the next book. "

" This was a free Kindle book from Amazon. I had just read another book by this author, so was interested. Laura Foster has given up her life as a prostitute and is posing as a wealthy widow running a boarding house. She meets and falls for the local preacher. Good western read. "

" i am not sure I like it, after thinking about it for a day. The heroine was not believable. It was a great adventure. I think if I put it down for a day I would have had trouble going back to it, but on a sleepless night, it was fine. "

" I really enjoyed the storyline. I keep looking for books set in the U.S. before 1900-hard to find. It was a tad religious for me. I thought it was a historical romance when I picked it up, but the storyline and characters kept me with it. A very sweet read. "

" I loved this book. It dealt with a lady who had a horrid past. She makes poor choices as an adult and then decides she wants better for herself and changes her path. Very heartwarming in that it showed how people can change and how we shouldn't judge. I really liked it! "
