Listener Opinions

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Laura | 2/17/2014

" The first book in this series sets up the world and the tropes in that world, but the plotline is a bit convoluted at first. The second and subsequent books get even better! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mistress ~ â™  Mistral's Kiss â™  ~ (Mist) | 2/11/2014

" There is way too much complexity in this spiffy piece of Urban fantasy for my happily muddled mind to express right now. All I'll say is buy it, read it now, read it fast. You can thank me later. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Aimee | 2/7/2014

" I guess I was hoping for more. I'd love to come across a new author that I can't get enough of. I was hoping this would be it. I feel like the romantic relationship was way too rushed and forced. I actually skimmed through the romantic parts because I was really turned off by them as a couple. I thought the magic part was pretty well thought out and interesting. She probably should have held off on the relationship and built more tension since it is the first book in a series. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 khryseda | 1/20/2014

" A little dull..but somewhat original. The story was like a 2D game, it had very little depth. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Karen Helmle | 1/6/2014

" I liked it, didn't love it. There were parts that were exciting. I think it has great potential to be a really good series so I am going to try the next in the series. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tess | 11/24/2013

" Read this on holiday, nothing too heavy. I enjoyed the new spin the author put on the nature and origin of magic. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jesyka James | 9/28/2013

" It wasn't a bad book. I liked it. It had some really interesting parts. I really liked Zayvion. I already bought the next three so I'll probably start on book two soon. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Becky | 8/5/2013

" Set in Portland, this was a different kind of book for me. I don't usually go for JUST magic users. And I really did enjoy this entire story. I love books that are placed in places I know so this was wonderful. And the side trips to Burns made me giggle. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Diane | 12/12/2012

" Very nice. I was getting burned out on urban fantasy because of not liking several books I've tried to read recently. This book is restoring my love. Well written, great NON-CONFUSING world-building, and interesting characters. Funny, smart, unique and unpredictable. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 M | 8/12/2012

" Who couldn't use a little Zavyion in their lives? Will look for Book 2 and see where this leads... "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kasey | 10/19/2011

" A good start to the series. I really enjoyed Allie and her world. There are some slower points, but that is to be expected especially in the first book. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Hope | 9/4/2011

" Outstanding. I stayed up all night reading it. While I was unsure about Zay after the last book, I'm on his side again now. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jennifer | 6/14/2011

" Wow, the ending really ramps up the action. Glad I had the next one checked it and ready to go! A little slow at first, but the ending makes up for it. I'll have to reread the first three books again to really appreciate the whole story though. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Gina | 5/15/2011

" Ok-quickest review ever because I want to go straight to the next one...this book has a ton of action, the War that has been threatening since the first book and one Hell of a cliffhanger...literally. Read it-it's awesome! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Chade66 | 4/27/2011

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Irena | 4/12/2011

" This one started out slow, but built to a satisfying conclusion. If you haven't read the first books, you are going to be totally lost in this one. This series cannot stand alone book by book. It needs to be read in order. She is still dealing with the same issues as last book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Nora-adrienne | 2/21/2011
