"This one has a lot going on in it Annika is at a party at which one of the members of the committee that selects the Nobel Prize winners is killed. She'd like to write an article for her newspaper but is not permitted to do so because she might jeopardize the police inquiry. She is also admidst issues with her husband over child care and his former lover, as well as trying to keep a relationship with a girl friend from crumbling. As with most Scandinavian mystery novels, a number of social and governmental issues are discissed. I hope her work keeps getting translated. This one was published in Swedish in 2006 and is just available in English since 2011. The American edition was just published this year."

" This gripping series continues to impress. Crime reporter Annika is one tough woman, turning to her work when her personal life is overwhelming. Looking forward to the next one. "
— Ann, 2/15/2014" For some reason I enjoy reading intrigue novels written by authors from other countries. This Swedish author does a splendid job of telling a story. I will search for more of her books when looking for a pleasurable read. "
— Rita, 1/22/2014" Again, Marklund delivers a well written, mysterious novel that draws you in from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages for more. I think for this one though, it would help to read some of her earlier Annika Bengtzon novels to get an understanding of the main character first. "
— Cathy, 1/8/2014" Skimmed through in the middle when book rambled somewhat really a 2.5. "
— Denise, 12/31/2013" Love this book! Can't wait for the next in this series! :) "
— Claudia, 12/31/2013" Pretty good addition to the Swedish Detectives. Not Henning mankell who is the best, in my opinion, but gripping and interesting, well drawn characters, good plot. "
— Carol, 12/29/2013" Published in the US as Last Will. I liked the story, a little reminiscent of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but not nearly as good. "
— Kathryn, 11/30/2013" I was a wee bit disappointed by the ending. Beyond that it was a good novel. "
— Hans, 11/13/2013" You know what you get with Bengtson "
— Lind0463, 9/27/2013" Another Scandinavian writer and another good one!! "
— Sophiene, 9/25/2013" mystery - meh. but I love the central character and am bummed that I can't find pub dates for the next two books (English translations). "
