It’s an honest-to-jeepers mystery! Agent Judy Drewdy sets out to solve the case of the missing puppy when a canine-cop-in-training vanishes into thin air.

Judy Moody is in a mood. A sleuthing, Nancy Drew kind of mood. So what’s a WBMS (world’s best mystery solver) to do? Go find a mystery, that’s what! And she doesn’t have to snoop for long: when Mr. Chips, a beloved crime-dog-in-training, goes missing, Judy Drewdy and her chums, agents Dills Pickle (Frank), Spuds Houdini (Rocky), and James Madagascar (Stink) find themselves smack-dab in the middle of a reallife, scare-your-pants-off whodunit. Was Mr. Chips stolen by dirty dognappers? And why are chocolate-chip cookies disappearing all over town? Watch out for red herrings—along with clever references to classic Nancy Drew mysteries—as Eagle Eye Moody and company are hot on the case!

" The best part of these books is how much Judy gets "into" her newest most favorite thing. In this book she is obsessed with the Nancy Drew series. So many references to the books, characters and the story lines from this old series, makes me want to read all 60 something of them myself. "

" This book was an adorable quick read. It was fun to imagine being in elementary school again when the smell of crayons and dirty sneakers was a comfortable smell. This book made me laugh and really want to start re-reading the Nancy Drew books. Thanks Megan McDonald for another great Judy Moody book. "

" This book is great for young kids that want to become detectives! Stink is very funny in this book. Judy hears the principal announce that a black lab (Dog) goes missing and gets her friends over and solves the mystery! "

" This was the Judy Moody I enjoyed the least so far. I'm not sure what the point of referencing many Nancy Drew mysteries was, but I found it terribly annoying. In addition, I thought that the fact that Judy's imagination had run away with her was good, but that it needed to be resolved somehow (e.g., Judy expressing some sort of understanding / someone explaining it to her). Overall, I felt the book was not as well-written as the others. "

" (From Ana, age 8): I think Judy Moody Girl Detective is a really good book because it tells you good things about being a good detective. My favorite part was when the polices dog goes missing and it's Judy,Rocky,Frank, and Stink's job to find him!!!!! "
