Publisher Description

Megan McDonald's New York Times best-selling series about rambunctious third-grader Judy Moody is a hit with young listeners who love watching their favorite heroine get into, and out of, zany situations. It's hard to tell just what kind of mood Judy's going to be in, but this time she's in a sleuthing mood-a Nancy Drew type of mood. Just itching to solve a case, her wish soon comes true when a local crime-dog-in-training goes missing. Could the police pooch have been dog-napped? And what's the deal with all the chocolate chip cookies disappearing around town? Looks like Judy's got her work cut out for her this time.

"This book was an adorable quick read. It was fun to imagine being in elementary school again when the smell of crayons and dirty sneakers was a comfortable smell. This book made me laugh and really want to start re-reading the Nancy Drew books. Thanks Megan McDonald for another great Judy Moody book."

" The best part of these books is how much Judy gets "into" her newest most favorite thing. In this book she is obsessed with the Nancy Drew series. So many references to the books, characters and the story lines from this old series, makes me want to read all 60 something of them myself. "

" This was the Judy Moody I enjoyed the least so far. I'm not sure what the point of referencing many Nancy Drew mysteries was, but I found it terribly annoying. In addition, I thought that the fact that Judy's imagination had run away with her was good, but that it needed to be resolved somehow (e.g., Judy expressing some sort of understanding / someone explaining it to her). Overall, I felt the book was not as well-written as the others. "
