You have good reason to be afraid. . . . It was a case that haunts Bobby Dodge to this day—the case that nearly killed him and changed his life forever. Now, in an underground chamber on the grounds of an abandoned Massachusetts mental hospital, the gruesome discovery of six mummified corpses resurrects his worst nightmare: the return of a killer he thought dead and buried. There’s no place to run. . . . Bobby’s only lead is wrapped around a dead woman’s neck. Annabelle Granger has been in hiding for as long as she can remember. Her childhood was a blur of new cities and assumed identities. But what—or who—her family was running from, she never knew. Now a body is unearthed from a grave, wearing a necklace bearing Annabelle’s name, and the danger is too close to escape. This time, she’s not going to run. You know he will find you. . . . The new threat could be the dead psychopath’s copycat, his protégé—or something far more terrifying. Dodge knows the only way to find him is to solve the mystery of Annabelle Granger, and to do that he must team up with his former lover, partner, and friend D. D. Warren from the Boston P.D. But the trail leads back to a woman from Bobby’s past who may be every bit as dangerous as the new killer—a beautiful survivor-turned-avenger with an eerie link to Annabelle. From its tense opening pages to its shocking climax, Hide is a thriller that delves into our deepest, darkest fears. Where there is no one to trust. Where there is no place left to hide.

"OMG!! What a wild ride this was! Could not put this one down...plenty of twists and turns. This is the epitomy of the suspense genre. It has been quite awhile since I have read a 5 star novel, but this one hit all my buttons. If you're looking for a book to keep you on the edge of your seat this would be the one."
— Toto66 (5 out of 5 stars)
" Her books are amazing - this one is really interesting. She does seem to consistently have some sorts of child abduction/abuse themes in her novels - hard to digest if you are a parent, but I can't put her books down. "
— Christi, 2/17/2014" From the very beginning, I was hooked. Very intense plot/story line. I would have given it a 5 if the language was cleaner. "
— Nikki, 2/10/2014" I found it frustrating when I had to put this book down!!! A page turner. A thrill from dart to finish! I kept trying to connect the dots but truly didn't see the conclusion. "
— Lisa, 1/30/2014" Surprisingly good read. Really enjoyed all of the characters, the plot moved at an appropriate speed, and the "whodunnit" aspect of the book was right in line with the rest of the plot. A really enjoyable summer read, loved the twists and turns. "
— Jesse, 1/21/2014" Better than the first DD Warren book I read. I am still not really crazy about this author's writing . I probably will not read anymore. This is book 3 that I have read of hers and I just can't get into her writing style. "
— Naomi, 1/15/2014" 3.5 rounded up to 4. The premise of childhood kidnapping and death is scary (not for the faint of heart) but the story is intense and keeps you coming back for more. "
— Peggy, 1/13/2014" Great whodunnit! Lots of plot twists. We thoroughy enjoyed it. "
— Darlis, 12/23/2013" I haven't read Lisa Gardner before, but I like this thriller. Anyone else read her work? "
— Sara, 12/21/2013" Good one. very gripping. I couldnt put the book down till i finished it. Graphic and thrilling in equal parts. "
— Puja, 12/14/2013" This was a great, complex "who done it". There are missing young girls and their fate, a closed mental asylum and a woman whose childhood consisted of constantly moving with her mom and dad along with five suitcases - no other personal items. "
— Marge, 12/3/2013" Standard crime suspense page-turner. Entertaining but gruesome in places. "
— Ginny, 11/5/2013" Good book. I enjoyed itjust didn't have enough time to read it. "
— Joe, 10/24/2013" Another terrific page turner! Had me hooked from the first chapter! I'm getting better about figuring out the bad guys...Can't wait to read the third book in this series "
— Meghan, 9/30/2013" Great book! Keeps your interest the entire time with all the twists and turns of the story. Definitely one to read if you like mystery books. "
— Lorna, 9/22/2013" Enjoyable read, not very outstanding though. "
— Bea, 7/3/2013" I am really enjoying this series. It has just enough twists and turns, many of which I don't see coming. This is only #2 in the series but so far it seems like it should be Bobby Dodge instead of D.D. warren. I'm assuming we get to know her more in subsequent stories. "
— Nick, 6/17/2013" This is the first book by Lisa Gardner that I have read. I thouroughly enjoyed the read. The suspense will keep you turning the pages for more. A very surprise twist at the end. I highly recommend this book to others. You will not be disappointed. "
— Nacole, 6/14/2013" The past and present collide as do two seemingly related cases that CAN'T be related. But DD & Bobby investigate along with a victim from the past who lived her whole life on the run. A suspenseful story full of interesting twists and characters that led to a fulfilling climax. "
— Terri, 10/23/2012" Another good mystery by Lisa Gardner. She writes a very suspenseful story. "
— Chriser123, 10/8/2012" Excellent; Continuing characters: D.D. Warren and Bobby Dodge; when six bodies of young girls killed years ago turn up, another woman comes forward who may have been a victim who got away when her family moved around the country "
— Joe, 4/19/2012" Really good Who dunnit. "
— Mylene, 4/9/2012" It took me longer than usual to finish this book because I couldn't read it at bedtime! The twists and turns in it scared me at times as I couldn't predict what was happening next. "
— Angela, 4/6/2012" I am on a Lisa Gardner kick right now. Will have to head to the library for another one of these great suspense mysteries. "
— Kristine, 4/6/2012" What a gripping read, I'm desperate to talk about this book, but don't want to give the plot away. Thoroughly gripping, entertaining and chilling. Very cleverly written. (And I didn't guess correctly who the murderer was, I fell for a red herring.) "
— Catherine, 5/20/2011" This is the second D.D.Warren book - liked it a lot more than the first one. Definitely a page turner. "
— Donna, 5/20/2011" Another exciting continuation of the series! Going to start on the next one. "
— Lisa, 5/19/2011" Typical Gardner book, and that is a good thing. Suspense is great. I did not figure out the bad guy until it was almost upon me! Enjoy "
— Michelle, 5/14/2011" This is my personal favorite book by Lisa Gardner. Gripping, suspenseful, and moves at a very fast pace. I also found the plot a little more credible than some of her other books, but I will say that she does avoid repeating themes unlike some other writers *cough* (Dan Brown) *cough*. "
— Dwight, 5/13/2011" I love Lisa Gardner's books. She provides the edge of suspense of a good thriller, but also creates characters that evoke emapthy. "
— Justina, 5/13/2011" I enjoyed this book and will continue to read more of this series. It was fast moving and kept me guessing. "
— Barbara, 5/5/2011" It was pretty good. Not as good as her books after this one. She is still one of my favorite authors. Another good crime thriller. "
— Cynthia, 4/30/2011" This woman can write and the stories and characters are well thought out. I like when a crime novel is not obvious and yet still plausible. "
— Lori, 4/25/2011" Thoroughly gripping thriller about a girl who has been running all her life but is not sure from what. Then she sees a newspaper report declare her dead and she cannot hide any longer from the truth. "
— Maria, 4/19/2011" I liked this second installment in the D.D. Warren series-- not as good as Alone, though. It took a little too long to resolve everything. Still, a very good mystery/ suspense novels with good characters. "
— Anne, 4/13/2011" This was an interesting book filled with twists and turns. In the end, things seem to tie themselves up rather neatly but it didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of a good suspense thriller. "
— Nancy, 4/12/2011" Very suspenseful read. Lots of twists and turns <br/> "
— Jane, 4/11/2011" One of her best books. Creepy but great storytelling. "
— Rileygolden, 4/10/2011" Good quick read; I enjoyed this one better than Alone. "
