Following the stunning success of her high-spirited debut, Karen Witemeyer delivers this compelling blend of humor and romance. When Adelaid Proctor finds herself stranded in 1883 Texas, she's hired by a British-born sheep rancher as governess for a daughter still grief-stricken over her mom's death. As Adelaid gently draws the girl out of her shell of silence, the governess and sheep rancher, at first, resist their mutual attraction. But as a looming standoff draws near, it will either shatter or strengthen their developing romance.

"Don't let the cover fool you! This isn't your sweet ho-hum romance. Head in the Clouds is a fun, and suspenseful read. Karen did a fantastic job on developing her characters. She makes the reader connect with both the hero and heroine and even many of the secondary characters. As the story progresses the suspense grows and one doesn't want to put it down. This should definitely be put on your 'To read' pile."

— Kisty, 3/7/2012" I didn't like this book as much the other books I have read by this author but it was still a good read. I wonder if this was one of her first ones. "
— Stacie, 2/22/2012" When I saw the cover of this novel, I knew I had to read it. I was not disappointed. Adelaide Proctor is a funny and lovable heroine, Gideon Westcott is both dashing and flawed, their romance drew me in, and the suspenseful second half of the novel made me neglect my household duties. "
— Sarah, 5/23/2011" I didn't like this book as much as A Tailor-Made Bride but it was good. I loved Gideon's character and Isabella just melts your heart. "
— Marleah, 5/17/2011" Super disappointed. The romance was fast-paced and corny. Dialogue wasn't too great either. And overall not a good read. At all. "
— Erin, 5/17/2011" Once I started this book, there was no doing anything else. I could not put it down. The characters became alive and felt part of the book. I laughed and cried. I loved everything about the book, especially her love and knowledge to love God so much. Well done. "

— Miss, 4/4/2011" Again, I really liked this one. Same pros as her first novel...characters I cared about, clean content, good romantic tension, nice amount of religious content. Nice escapist reading! "
— Heather, 4/1/2011" Another cute Christian romance by this author. I have to say I enjoyed her Tailor Made Bride better than this one. But it was still cute and pretty clean.

Moral Note: Does have an attempted rape. "
