Rich in suspense and brimming with adventure, the New York Times-bestselling Underland Chronicles unfold the fate of the Underland and the great warrior, Gregor. Suzanne Collins is also the author of the bestselling Hunger Games trilogy. In the fourth volume of the critically acclaimed Underland Chronicles, Gregor is drawn ever deeper into a brewing crisis. For generations, rats have run the mice–or “nibblers”–out of whatever lands they’ve claimed, keeping them constantly on the move. But now the mice are disappearing, and the young queen Luxa, who credits them with saving her life, is determined to find out why. When Gregor joins her on a fact-finding mission, he’s relieved that this time, at least, there’s no prophecy on the line. But when the true fate of the mice is revealed, it is something far more sinister than Gregor or Luxa have imagined–and it points the way to the final prophecy he has yet to fulfill. Gregor’s role as warrior and his abilities as a rager are put to the test in this suspenseful, action-packed penultimate installment of Suzanne Collins’s thrilling Underland Chronicles.

"In the fourth book in the Gregor the Overlander series, Gregor is once again battling rats to defend his friends. This time, it seems that something has been happening to the mice (called nibblers in the Underland). They all seem to be disappearing. Gregor agrees to help Luxa find out what has been happening to her friends, the mice. This book seems like it is mostly set up for the the fifth and final book in the series. The tension is built up without resolution, unlike the first three books that contained entire adventures themselves. Like the others in the series, this book deals with real world issues surrounding war. I was a little disappointed that the situation mirrored history more directly than the books have in the past. While in previous books the reader can apply the messages regarding warfare to several real world events, in this book it is very clearly a description of the holocaust. My son and I have already begun the final book in the series and are looking forward to how Collins ends Gregor's time in the Underland."

" Another great installment from Collins. This story is mostly a set-up for the series conclusion in book 5, but that doesn't mean that it didn't have it's own charm. Found myself crying for the characters yet again, which is truly an amazing feat for an author. Highly recommended for tweens, or adults looking for an escape for a few hours. "
— Reaya, 2/20/2014" I had heard from others that this wasn't their favorite book of the series...however thus far this one was my favorite. The others I could walk away from and come back later. Not this one. I could not stop and felt like finally these books reminded me a little of the Hunger games. This was the book that gave us villians that were truly evil. Along with that a reason to root for Gregor and his cause. A great read. "
— Jennifer, 1/12/2014" Good, but parts were really disturbing! And a cliffhanger at the end...blurg. "
— Watoosa, 1/12/2014" Another great book in the Underland Chronicles. This one is a little darker than the first 3. My 8 year old hasn't finished and am thinking it's because of all the deaths going on. Looking forward to finishing the series. "
— Inspired, 1/5/2014" I still love the series. Suzanne Collins is an example of an author who can make a quest interesting and engaging. I think these last books in the series are a little too gory for a child (maybe would work for a teenager). I am interested to see how it all ends. "
— Amerydbaker, 12/28/2013" Way way too much killing and dieing for my taste. Kids liked it. "
— Karen, 12/19/2013" This wasn't my favorite book in this series and they seem to get progressively darker. I did enjoy following the character development and the fast read. "
— Carrie, 11/9/2013" The series is starting to seem a bit long to me, not as fresh as it was in the beginning. "
— Jenny, 10/13/2013" I am not sure if I loved # 3 in the series so much that #4 paled in comparison, or if this book just wasn't as good. The plight of the nibblers was interesting, and this book sets up book #5 great, but as a whole it was my least favorite in the series. "
— Angie, 8/23/2013" As with all powerful stories, the battle of good and evil is waged on some scale. My expectations are high for the fifth and final book.. don't fail me now, Suzanne! "
— Kelly, 6/1/2013" very good pre teen book "
— Sue, 5/24/2013" This novel is integral to the series, but is annoying because it ends at the beginning of a climactic battle. Good adventure in an engaging world. "
— Sandra, 3/22/2013" Great author. Love how she writes. This book left me hanging where I have to get the next book to find out what will happen. "
— Mary, 12/19/2012" Probably the most tragic of all the books but still very touching and exciting. Makes me sad to think there is only one more in the series. I have a lot of hopes and expectations that expect will be met just like the all the others. "
— Alison, 10/19/2012" Just as great as the previous Gregor books. "
— Emily, 10/19/2012" A little under educated reading for a little entertainment, but it was a rather adequate literary work i might say myself. I enjoyed i would recommend it to fans of the fantasy genre. "
— Liam, 5/19/2012" A lot more characters being introduced and fun! "
— CandyChic, 12/4/2011" Book four in the Gregor series. Interestingly, probably my favorite of the bunch and the first to end in a cliffhanger. I'm impressed. "
— Jeff, 9/10/2011" this one was my favorite (not counted the last one which was just as good.) It was sooo good but also sad, just not as sad as the last one :D "
— Sofi, 8/13/2011" We liked this one as well. The series is definitely getting "darker" as we go. But there is still enough humor and emotions to keep my 9 year old daughter loving this series. "
— Diana, 8/1/2011" Read this one, like the last, in one day. I really like this series, and this was better than the last, though not as good as the first. It got a bit dark and heavy-handed, what with the clear genocide and the thinly veiled references to Nazism. But a good read. "
— Tarah, 6/27/2011" This one leaves one empty and wondering what's next... "
— Emily, 5/20/2011" Still really like this series... "
— Dave, 5/13/2011" Love the series, excited to see how it ends! "
— Emily, 5/11/2011" Amazing. This book was fabulous and a perfect addition to the series "
— Kaylee, 5/7/2011" Read it all day long. "
— Rebecca, 4/30/2011" I thought the plot was a little predicable but it was a good quick read. "
— Allison, 4/30/2011" Boo hoo, I can't believe I'm almost at the end of this wonderful series. "
— Ariel, 4/23/2011" Loving this series. I did't think it was possible that they would be as good as her other series Hunger Games but they are! I just hate that the next book will be the last in the series! I could read more! "
— Tracy, 4/20/2011" this one was my favorite (not counted the last one which was just as good.) It was sooo good but also sad, just not as sad as the last one :D "
— Sofia, 4/15/2011" This is such a great series. Can't wait to read the last one! "
— Sarah, 4/15/2011" I am enjoying this series and can only image how much a young boy would! Hope to share it with my grandkids some day. "
— Madeline, 4/14/2011" Solid writing, not as quick as the others, but very enjoyable. "
— David, 4/14/2011" Alright, more of the same. "
— Chelsea, 4/4/2011" Another enjoyable read - the 4th in this series. Only one more to read...Can't wait till my boys are older. They will love these books! "
