"Finally finished the series!! And it wasn't for lack of interest, I'll say that because this series is more than capable of dragging you into the story. I enjoyed this one. Not my favorite book of the series; the author changed a few things about what was going on and the reasons they were going on, but it's still a great read. I highly recommend it to all fans of young adult fantasy. I can't believe it's all over though!!! No more Underland??? How can this be?? I think I need to go bust a hole behind my dryer and force my way down there. :P"

“A fitting end for an unflinchingly gutsy series whose deftly drawn characters have always lived dangerously.”
— Kirkus Reviews“A fitting conclusion to the series, a conclusion that, while not “happily ever after,” is realistic and poignant.”
— Children’s Literature“Fans of the series will find much to appreciate, from an enigmatic prophecy to the complex rat Ripred, and they’ll be drawn in by Collins's tight pacing and sense of urgency.”
— School Library Journal" I think this was one of my favorite books of the series. I really enjoyed the characters and feeling involved with their life. I definitely recommend this series! "
— Teri, 1/18/2014" Another great piece by Suzanne Collins. This was my favorite book in the series. "
— John, 1/9/2014" I have really liked this series. I can't wait to recommend it to my summer kids. "
— Leslie, 12/26/2013" The conclusion to the Underland Chronicles. The ending wasn't quite as final as I would have liked though. "
— Arwen, 11/28/2013" So awesome. I cried like a baby. "
— Leanna, 11/27/2013" A creative story and likable characters... read the whole series in one sweep ... "
— Frances, 11/12/2013" This was a great ending to a great series. A fun story. It seemed a little slow in the middle, but quickly got me caught up in getting to a happy ending. A fun story. "
— Kristi, 8/23/2013" Last in the series and I'm glad to be done. The last couple of books just seemed like the same storyline repeated over and over to me. "
— Jan, 8/10/2013" I really liked this book. It didn't end as I expected, but I'm ok with that. The problem I had with it was the extreme violence, particularly since it's aimed at a young age group. I loved the whole series, but this was my least favorite, strictly because of the violence. "
— Jackie, 4/11/2013" I am sad the series is over. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I am not sure I love how it ended for Gregor. I might try and get Kevin to read them with me. This is good on audio! "
— Natali, 1/3/2013" realy good series but realy sad ending made me cry for an hour because of the conection i had with ares hpoe she makes a 6th! "
— zach, 9/25/2012" Powerful ending. What a great series. "
— Joe, 2/11/2012" I loved this book. It was my very favorite in the series. It was sad, happy and triumphant. "
— Kresten, 11/7/2011" It was very interesting. It had suspensefull endings to the chapters and brought a good ending to the series. "
— Catherine, 9/7/2011" I enjoyed this series more than I expected. I found the ending kind of depressing. I think this series provides children with probably the best and most thorough explanation of war and it's implications. I'm not sure kids would feel so... disheartened with it as I did. Very engaging. "
— Jennifer, 6/29/2011" I would say 4 and a half stars mainly for the very sad ending. "
— Joseph, 6/17/2011" I really enjoyed this book. Left me sad that the series was over, but very nicely concluded. I enjoyed how different hints in previous books came into play. Very well done. "
— Sara, 6/8/2011" I really enjoyed this book but I cannot believe that she would end it like she did. I sincerely hope that there will eventually be other Gregor books. We need to know more. "
— Madeline, 5/23/2011" I really liked this series. I was pleased with the ending. It was pretty melancholy and open-ended but that was probably more realistic. Suzanne Collins has me as a fan. "
— Emily, 5/18/2011" Seemed rushed and leeft unfulfilled at the end. "
— D, 5/18/2011" A strong ending to a very good series. "
— Shauna, 5/5/2011" I was a little disappointed in the ending, although it does leave it open to the imagination. Definitely a series I enjoyed reading! "
— Amy, 5/5/2011" Maybe I was expecting more of a 'bang' with this last book or maybe it was there just wasn't enough closure for me. I guess after reading 5 books I wanted more. Anyway, I enjoyed the series, but wasn't thrilled with the ending. "
— Tera, 5/5/2011" Soren read all day long. "
— Rebecca, 4/30/2011" This was a great series, although the end seemed a little open. Maybe she'll be returning to it? Either way, wonderful YA series. "
— Sarah, 4/28/2011" The last book in the series....sad to see it end but enjoyed this series a lot. Great for all ages. I think young boys would especially like the adventures that Gregor finds himself in. "
— Tracy, 4/20/2011" I really liked it but the ending was disappointing. It was just like "Mockingjay," (which is by the same author) because the ending was depressing. "
— Isa, 4/19/2011" A bit disappointed with the ending.. So many questions left unanswered...I'm hoping it's because there will be another book in the series. I don't want it to end with this book!!!! "
— Jasmine, 4/18/2011" Great final book in the series. Kind of wish Collins would write another though.... "
— Sarah, 4/18/2011" I enjoyed it until the last two pages. "
— David, 4/14/2011" Good, but sad. Hoping she writes another one so we can go out on a more hopeful note. "
