Things to do:
1. Rescue sister.
2. Murder grandmother.
3. Don't upset the voodoo priestess.
The clock is ticking for Sabina Kane. Her sister has been kidnapped by her grandmother, the Dark Races are on the brink of war, and a mysterious order is manipulating everyone behind the scenes.
Working on information provided by an unlikely ally, Sabina and her trusty sidekicks—a sexy mage named Adam Lazarus and Giguhl, a Mischief demon—head to New Orleans to begin the hunt for her sister. Once there, they must contend with belligerent werewolves, magic-wielding vampires, and, perhaps most frightening of all, humans.
But as much as Sabina is focused on surviving the present, the past won't be ignored. Before she can save those she cares about most, she must save herself from the ghosts of her past.

"This series wavers between a 3 and a 4 for me. It's a 4 in terms of quality, I think, but I feel like it's a 3 for me personally. Something about it doesn't gel for me and I'm not sure why. I think maybe it's just that so much effort is expended on 'attitude' and having 'fun' dialogue and somehow it doesn't fly for me. But the story and the characters are decent, I just don't get entirely emotionally involved. In other words, there are books where you pick up the phone when it rings and books where you let it click to voicemail. This is a pick up the phone series for me. But still, if you like snarky vampires and magic and prophecies and the like, give it a chance. Your mileage actually has a really good chance of varying in this case."
— Nightfall (4 out of 5 stars)
Wells does a nice job creating a seamless blend between magical and real worlds, which makes it easy for the reader to handle curveballs.... Urban-fantasy fans who like their heroines tough will enjoy this series.
— Booklist" I am really enjoying this series. "
— Michelle, 2/8/2014" Great addition to the series. Can't wait to see what happens next "
— Helen, 2/7/2014" I loved 'Red headed Stepchild' but was disappointed with 'The Mage in Black' which is why I didn't read 'Green-Eyed Demon'immediately upon its release. I decided recently to go back to the series after many reviews stated that this installment was much better than the last. I am so glad I returned to Sabina's world because it was indeed a great read. I had forgotten how snarky and impulsive Sabina could be and Giguhl was brilliant. Jaye wells also introduced some interesting new characters. I will definitely be buying book 4. "
— Amos, 2/5/2014" The action was good. But there was alot of waiting around. Lots of sorta, kinda lookin for clues, but coming up empty handed. Sabina is also one those heroine's that I really don't care for. I like the supporting cast a whole lot more. Looking forward to seeing what happens with Maisie. Will she be completely nuts after her kidnapping? Will she hold some kind of grudge against Sabina? Also will Adam finally find out about Slade? "
— Leah, 2/2/2014" I thought this was a good addition to the series. I am excited to see what happens in the next book. In the third book of the Sabina Kane Series it was nice to finally see some more emotional growth from the main character. "
— Christina, 1/16/2014" I can see why there are more books after this one, but honestly, things were wrapped up pretty nicely at the end. She could have stopped here, but I'm glad she didn't because I want to see more of Adam. =) "
