"Totally absorbing and thrilling. I love the book than the movie. Although Forrest Gump the movie is also good, but it lacks of the real quantity of Forrest's real adventure which is actually more than revealed in the movie. In the movie, as almost always, it ends with happy ending. But actually, in the story that told in the book, Forrest's shrimp business goes down. The book told more real yet still awesome story."

“A wacky and funny nuthouse of a book.”
— George Plimpton, New York Times bestselling author and cofounder of The Paris Review“Part Candide, part Huck Finn and a whole lot of Andy Griffith, [Gump] makes his case in a voice all his own.”
— Los Angeles Times“Joyously madcap…[an] unusual novel…there is much on-target humor here.”
— Publishers Weekly“ Forrest Gump provides social commentary in a light, humorous style. Gump’s adventures range from shrimp farming and chess championships to space flight and capture by cannibals. Nixon, the military, Vietnam, college football, and other topics receive blunt and caustic comment from Gump. Throughout his experiences, Gump remains a likable fellow who views the world and notes his observations simply, straightforwardly, and truthfully.”

— Kristina, 2/18/2014" The movie was actually better. Book contained way more strange situations than the movie - but still glad I read it. "
— Dusk, 2/1/2014" I read this book long before the movie. It has so many more twists and turns and is just funny. I loved it! It is a quick read, but worth it. "

— renie, 1/29/2014" I thought this this is a really good book to read. This was better then the movie. This was a book about Forrest and how he was dumb but he still contued to go to school. He was on the Alabama football team and he also was a vietam war hero. "
— Caleb, 1/22/2014" This stands out in my mind as one of the worst books I ever read - I know I tossed it aside in disgust just a few chapters in. It has the rare honor of being a book much worse than it's movie (which I loved!) "
— Peregrine, 1/10/2014" Maybe because I saw the movie first, then there's no surprise in reading it :( "
— Sondang, 1/6/2014" The book only as 241 pages "
