When Phil Kramer is shot dead on a deserted suburban street in the middle of the night, his wife, Emily, is left with an emptied bank account and a lot of questions. How could Phil leave her penniless? What was he going to do with the money? And, most of all, who was he if he wasn't the man she thought she married?
Jerry Hobart has some questions of his own. It's none of his business why he was hired to kill Phil Kramer. But now that he's been ordered to take out Kramer's widow, he figures there's a bigger secret at work—and maybe a bigger payoff.
As they race to find the secret Phil Kramer so masterfully hid, both Hobart and Emily must question where their true loyalties lie and how much they owe those who have been unfaithful to them. In Fidelity, Thomas Perry delivers another riveting thriller.

"Oh, I love Thomas Perry, he's such a good writer and his books move like bullet trains. But he seriously scares me. Many of his books feature professional hit men, and this guy knows WAY too much about the details of being a hit man. I'm convinced it's first-hand knowledge. Plus, according to the book jackets, he lives here in Southern California. He could be watching my house right now -- not directly in front, where he might be seen, but up by the corner in a nondescript sedan in a neutral color. So listen, Mr. Perry, the reason I only gave you four stars is that I'm saving the five stars for next year when you bring back the Jane Whitfield series after 10 years. OK? Look, just don't hurt my cat."

“Perry gives us three remarkably rich characters, whose multiple shades of gray are delineated so crisply as to form the subtlest of rainbows. This is fine writing from one of crime fiction’s grand masters.”
— Booklist (starred review)A spunky but believable heroine, an emotionally conflicted killer, a plot whose twists you will not anticipate.... Fidelity is a winner.
— Library Journal Starred Review“Perry intrigues as always with spare, intelligent prose.”
— Publishers Weekly" I'm pretty new to Tom Perry but I am really enjoying his work. His writing is smart and doesn't insult his readers. This was a good read...well listen actually. Excellent narrator too. "
— Saundra, 2/12/2014" Definitely not his best nor as good as his Jane Whitefield books. Refreshing that the main characters were so different from each other and they didn't get together romantically like in so many other author's mystery fiction books. "
— Amy, 2/9/2014" Started out ok, but became rather disappointing, and very anticlimactic. "
— Deborah, 2/7/2014" I got halfway into this book and decided I didn't like the main character, didn't find the bad guy particularly interesting, and honestly didn't care what the solution to the central mystery was - not even to the point of bothering to flip through and read the end. I really loved Perry's earlier books, but this one just didn't work for me. "
— Alisa, 1/26/2014" This was a great read - the characters were very well done, and the plot was developed in a very effective manner "
— Patrick, 1/25/2014" I've enjoyed all the other Thomas Perry books I've read, but couldn't get into this one. I just couldn't connect with the main character -- she was too cold and shut down. I ended up returning the book to the library without completing it. "
— Jenna, 1/17/2014" I am a sucker for any Thomas Perry book and this was no different. It was not my favorite but it was still a very compelling story told in a manner that would not let me put it down until I got to the final word. "
— Susan, 1/15/2014" I started reading Thomas Perry for the Jane Whitefield novels, and all of his other books since then have been pretty hit or miss for me. Fidelity, one of his stand-alones, did manage to hold my attention for the whole book, and was a quick read, so it wins in that regard. Another airport book. "
— Dana, 1/15/2014" Just didn't hold my attention like other books he has written. "
