Plot Summary

In this short story, set just before the third installment of the Beautiful Creatures, we are taken along with Link, who has just joined his best friend Ethan Wate in a journey through the labyrinthian underground tunnels hidden in the South. Yes, Link knew this wouldn't be easy, but making it back to his hometown Gatlin, was only the start of his treacherous quest.

Now Link is wounded, and he can't just confide in any doctor. No, the damage to his arm is the least of his problems. The bite of a Supernatural has changed him to the core, making him more like this dark creature who bit him.

At the end of this audiobook is a sneak peak at the first five chapters of Beautiful Chaos!

The film Beautiful Creatures was released in America in February 2013, and introduced us to the world of the Caster Chronicles. One of the highest rated young adult fantasy series, the story of Ethan Wate and Lana Duchannes is masterfully crafted by two American authors.

Kami Garcia was raised near Washington D. C.. Yet she has ties to the south, where these tales are set, and she has always been fascinated by the supernatural. Margaret Stohl has a background in the video gaming industry, where she applied her creative writing first. Though they created the Beautiful Creature series together, both women now live in California and work separately.

"I so love Link and reading this short story about him being a linkubus is so cute and is a day in the life of a linkubus. I am glad Link has macom to help him thru the process of what he is going thru. It is also a wonderful fix until the next book plus reading the first couple of chapters!! "

— Connie (5 out of 5 stars)

Publisher Summary

When Link joined his best friend, Ethan Wate, on a quest through a mysterious network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, he knew the journey would be dangerous. But returning home to Gatlin, South Carolina was just the beginning...

Wounded during a climactic battle, Link discovers that tending his injuries won't be as simple as visiting a doctor and that healing his arm should be the least of his worries. For being bitten by a Supernatural does more than break the skin -- it changes a person, inside and out, turning Link into someone more and more like the dark creature who injured him.

In this never-before-seen short story by New York Times bestselling authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, listeners witness Link's heart-racing transformation. Dream Dark is set before the much-anticipated third Beautiful Creatures novel, Beautiful Chaos, and as a special bonus includes an exclusive sneak peek at the first five chapters.
