Welcome to Grace Valley, California, where blood runs thicker, ties are stronger, and love is all the more sweet

Visitors to the town often remark on the valley’s peace and beauty—both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows—this is country life at its finest. But visitors don’t always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond…

June Hudson, daughter of the town doctor, grew up in Grace Valley. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father’s footsteps. Some might say she chose the easy, comfortable route, but June knows better.

For June, her emergency room is wherever she’s needed—or wherever a patient finds her. She is always on call, her work is her life, and these people are her extended family—which is a good thing, since this is a town where you should have picked your husband in the ninth grade. Grace Valley is not exactly the place to meet eligible men—that is, until an undercover DEA agent suddenly starts appearing at all sorts of strange hours. Everybody has secrets down in the valley. Now June has one of her own.

" Oh my goodness, I'm very glad I started the Grace Valley triology before the Virgin River series, it was able to give me a slightly better background to the Virgin River series when they refer to the Grace Valley Doctors. I was not able to put this book down wondering what was going to happen next. "

" Very detailed book that is the beginning of this series that has a real good explanation of each character and starts building the background for the town, characters, and situations. It is similar, but yet different, than the Virgin River Series and some of these characters are mentioned and intertwined with the Virgin River Series. Very good book - can't wait to reach the rest of the trilogy. "

" Had a hard time getting into the book. I didn't feel I connected with the main character and didn't like how the perspective changed from the view of the different characters, it sometimes becomes hard to keep track of it all. "

" If I wanna be honest about this book, I can say I was tired of all that explanation about characters. I'm not against the power of story-telling of Robyn Carr but I think, it was too excessive at some point and you felt that you have already read what she has said before. Perhaps,I was used to read the books that wrap up the whole story not with focused details. Hence, talking about the story and the way June Hudson hid his lover from all nosy people of Grace Valley was thrilling and full of excitement. "
