Publisher Description

“It makes Silence of the Lambs look like Mary had a little one—it never lets up.” —Adrienne Dines, author of The Jigsaw Maker

Evan Delaney knew China Lake was a tough place to grow up. She never knew how tough until she returns to the desert military base for her high school reunion and learns that several of her classmates have died young. Then, on the first night of the reunion, another one dies—this one savagely butchered. And she’s just the first. Someone has an ax to grind. And Evan’s graduating class has something to fear.

“One of the best thrills I've read this year. Miss Gardiner has written a cracker.” —Caroline Carver, CWA Dagger-winning author of Blood Junction

“A tense and exciting thriller where almost anything seems possible.” —Independent on Sunday

"This was sick shit for sure and I enjoyed it immensely. Although this was the fourth book in the series and I haven't read the others I enjoyed the story and the twists and turns it took. If you like sick shit, this one should go on your list. "

" An incredibly complex and at the same fast-moving plot. Our heroine seems to be in some kind of jeopardy almost all the time. "

" A real page-turner. The plot kept me going. But at the end, I felt Luke I had eaten cotton candy. Lots of sweetness (though this is not a sweet book) but no substance. "

" I'd give this three and a half stars if I could. Towards the end I couldn't put it down and the last third of the book was action packed. The main villain in this book reminded me of a terminator. "

" Meg Gardiner's books are so fast paced, once I start I can't put them down. This book was the best one so far, great twist and the action was non-stop. I'm going to have to pay more attention to Stephen King's recommendations. "
