#1 New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer discusses the importance of words in Change Your Words, Change Your Life:
"Words are a big deal. They are containers for power, and we have to decide what kind of power we want our words to carry. . . . I believe that our words can increase or decrease our level of joy. They can affect the answers to our prayers and have a positive or negative effect on our future. . . . One might say that our words are a movie screen that reveals what we have been thinking and the attitudes we have."
Building on the premises of her bestselling books, Power Thoughts and Living Beyond Your Feelings, Joyce examines how we use words-the vehicles that convey our thoughts and emotions-and provides a series of guidelines for cultivating talk that is constructive, healthy, healing, and used for good results.

"I have never been a "fan" of Joyce Meyer, never listen to an entire message that she has preached, never been to one of her conferences and, until now, never read one of her books. That being said, I really liked this book! I am not a "charismatic" Christian, and I know that Meyer is firmly placed in that camp, but I found almost nothing in here that I would disagree with. Easy to understand, grounded on scripture, this book is very helpful in understanding the power of our words and the correct use of our mouth. I found lessons and advice that I immediately put into practice. I checked this out of the library, but this immensely useful and powerful book is one I will definitely add to my own personal library."
— Denise (4 out of 5 stars)
" Words are SO powerful. I love that she gives real examples and encourages you to think. "
— Sarah, 1/16/2014" Incredible book! Life changing truth that comes straight from the Word of God. "
— Linda, 1/3/2014" As usual, Joyce Meyer writes what is put upon her heart by the Lord. This book is excellent and I'm convicted more than once. Now to change my words, which I'm working on..... "
— Karen, 12/15/2013" This was a surprisingly helpful book. I love the candid style of the author. "
— Kristen, 12/4/2013" Loved this book. Full of good practical advice, not preachy, but Godly. Really felt inspired to clean up my talk. "
— Kathy, 11/13/2013" This is a powerful book that helps the readers understand how to choose words and thoughts that create peace and power in their lives. If people throughout the world understood and applied the concepts in this book, we would have peace in our hearts, homes, and nations. "
— Carol, 10/31/2013" The audio was good. However, this is the kind of book that I feel the need to highlight, underline and tab. And carry around with you. So, I'm going to have to buy a hard copy. "
— Evelyn, 10/21/2013" I liked this book and what Joyce was saying. It got very repetative after a while though. "
— Rebecca, 10/9/2013" It took me three months but I finally finished it. Excellent read. "
— Edward, 8/28/2013" Bible based thoughts on how using words affects us, our relationship with God and the people around us. Full of quotations from both Old and New Testaments. "
— Linda, 8/12/2013" It was an amazing book! I learned so much! It answered a lot of questions and struggles that I had about speaking what was factual verses what is actually true (scriptural). I think that everyone should read this book! It is on such an important topic. "
— Janelle, 6/22/2013" Thank you, Joyce Meyer for writing this book! Excellent! Loved it! "
— Lynn, 6/5/2013" Everyone who speaks to other people for any reason will benefit from this book:). "A word spoken in due season can be one of the most valuable things in the world, but out of season, it can be very destructive." "
— Julie, 5/11/2013" If you, the reader, follow the principles of this book and actively change the way you speak, and the words your choose this book will actually live up to the title. Great for small groups, as it provides a lot of discussion even without a discussion question section. "
— Elizabeth, 4/12/2013" very good to learn the meaning of the words we say and the tones that we say them with. (Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.) That is soooo wrong. "
— Ramona, 11/6/2012" Probably one of the best books I have read. Really reminds you how powerful your words are and how they either built or destroy. "
— Giselle, 10/12/2012" I bought this book accidentally for Kindle, thinking it would be about language. It turned out to be one of those weird new-age omelettes. Utter nonsense: wrong science, superstition and some good ol' common-sense here and there to make some of it sound at least plausible. "
— Stefano, 9/25/2012" This book has so much good information in it that it can't all be absorbed in just one reading. It will be a life reference book for me going forward. "
— Kay, 9/12/2012" Oh yeah! This book has my name written all over it. I will be re-reading this again at a much slower pace and with highlighter and pen in hand. I couldn't slow down enough to take notes on the first read! "
