" Oh Rita, I hate to say this but I think your cat mysteries have finally jumped the shark. This was one was so bogged down in diatribes against taxes and government and technology and drugs I nearly lost the story. The mystery takes a back seat, as do Harry and her animals. I might try your new dog mysteries and hope that they have a real story to follow. "

" I made it to page 40 but I just couldn't take all the digs at politics. I miss the carefree and funny plots of her earlier books. Even the animals are underused in this book. This one just doesn't live up to her previous books so I'm sending it back to the library early. Maybe someone else will enjoy it more. "

" I usually enjoy Rita Mae Brown's cozy mysteries, but not this one. The mystery plot is fine, but the author keeps going off on Tea Party-esque rants. I prefer my mysteries without political diatribes and rants on the horrors of modern society. "

" Not the strongest story in the series. Part of the book is set in Missouri, but the charm of these books is the setting in Crozet Virginia and the usual cast of characters, including the two cats and dog. They didn't play much of a role this time around. "

" Yes, I have read or heard all 18 of the Mrs. Murphy series and have #19 on hold at the library. I lived in Harry's world for a few months, devouring the stories and wondering if my cats really do understand me! "oh la!" "

" hey Sneaky Pie. You're letting the human get too political. Too much fluff. I stopped reading Lillian Jackson Braun when her stories stopped being about the crimes. I can do the same to you. "

" A light, fun read. I went to the college that the author talks about, so it was neat to read a book based there. I enjoyed my time there, and the people at WWU are great! I hope to read more from Rita Mae again in the near future! "
