If it was still beating. Angus MacKay has been undead for almost five hundred years and it's not often something, or someone, surprises him. Until Emma Wallace. The sight of this luscious agent from the CIA's elite Stake-Out team was enough to stop Angus in his tracks. But then he discovers that she's a vampire slayer, intent on killing the "monsters" who killed her parents. And it's Angus's job to stop her.
The only good vampire is a dead vampire. It's been Emma's motto since she committed her life to the destruction of these things. Now Angus MacKay wants to convince her differently.
Sure, he's a sexy Highland warrior who seems to have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, complete with brogue, kilt, and sword, but he's also one of them. And it's her job to kill him.
The war is on, but will it end in the destruction of one or both of them . . . or in total surrender to a passion for the ages?

"Emma is a member of the Stake-Out team and hates all vampires because they killed her parents. Angus is taken right away with Emma until he realizes who she is and that she wants to kill him. He relishes changing her mind and they fall in love soon after. Emma is left for dead by an evil vampire bitch and Angus feels guilty for transforming her. Great read!!"

" I didn't like it when I first read it, but like it better on second try. "
— Sarah.W, 2/9/2014" This one was a bit cliche but i love Angus and wanted him to find love and Emma was just a perfect match for him- both of them being warriors was just perfect. I love this series- especially since each character's story is quite different from the others. "
— Mrsinserra, 2/6/2014" I enjoyed the story but the narrator kept pissing me off. Her accents sucked and it seems she forgot after the first chapter that the heroine was British (you know, like with an accent and all). "
— Taria, 2/4/2014" I love this author. Her stories always have a variety of elements. There is always the good vs. evil aspect. The love found, then lost, then found again. Great humor and lots of fun. It was really cute sometimes that's all I need. It's nice to have something happy to cheer me up. "
— Laura, 1/14/2014" i really enjoyed the read. I like Angus and Emma's journey and it was nice to see how Roman and Shanna & baby Constantine were moving along. I look forward to the next book. "
— Nyimah, 1/12/2014" Best book I've read in the series so far. Strong female character. "
— Jenny, 1/7/2014" Ok I think I would have liked listening to this story better had the Narrator actually had Emma talk with an English accent. The whole book she spoke without one and it just threw the whole thing off since I knew she was suppose to. "
— Rebekah, 1/3/2014" Better than the previous books in the series. "
— Tishke, 11/20/2013" didn't like it ... "
— Marina, 10/28/2013" I liked this more than I expected to. It definitely read like a guilty-pleasure romance. It's about a woman who is a vampire slayer that falls in love with a vampire. Definitely one that vampire romance fans will enjoy. "
— Erica, 10/20/2013" I like this books, my only concern is weather all the books are going to be the same in the sense of the relationships!!! "
— Ingrid, 10/5/2013" Another amazing book! so glad the series is long "
— Janai, 7/8/2013" I just finished this one in the series, i think this is the more 'romantic' one so far. Its a great read, keeps your attention through the whole book. "
— Ashley, 12/6/2012" Very good - even better! "
— Karen, 12/2/2012" I enjoyed it from start to end! The story moved quickly and the plot was interesting. There is a lot of action as well as steamy love scenes. I love these kilted vamps. Emma and Angus are both hard-headed warriors and make a great couple. Kerrelyn Sparks has outdone herself! "
— Alexia, 10/15/2012" Angus and Emma. Both are very strong. I liked this one as much as the first. Possibly because I already knew Angus from then and as I said the supporting cast is great. The end is a little sad. One thing I do like is with the three books each couple has a different outcome. "
— Shannon, 7/4/2012" I'm really enjoying this series. I love how she creates the relationships with two very strong characters clashing personalities and yet perfect for each other. I lover her sarcastic humor! Can't wait to read the next one! "
— Kim, 6/19/2012" Cute fast read. Good story great romance. Moved fast for a book almost 400 pages. I am kinda getting tired of people hating vampires though... otherwise great and great end to this one. "
— ♡, 5/17/2012" This read like a cheesy romance novel. I guess if that is what you are looking for, then read it. I was expecting a vampire novel with some romance, not a romance novel with vampires. "
— Amber, 3/17/2012" I have been enjoying this series more than i thought i would. Another, good read! "
— Nicole, 2/18/2012" I am really enjoying this series! "
— Ramona, 10/13/2011" I was hoping that a book would be about Angus. I love some of his lil quarks. I am loving the new technology in these books. I like the good vamps/bad vamps thing too. I am liking that each books seems to be different in each characters thoughts..... can't wait to see what happens next. "
