"Once again this author does a great job making the characters enjoyable to read and learn about. This is the first in the De Piaget series and it covers how Rhys received Artane and his wife Gwen. Lots of twists and turns, making for an enjoyable if not somewhat predictable story. "

" I'm not naive. I know how marriages were arranged in the time period, and many of them loveless. But, I had a really hard time reading the about the first two years of the marriage. It broke my heart. Yes, I knew the happy ending would come, but come with a heavy price, it did. "
— Erin, 2/18/2014" My least favorite of the De Piaget books, it made me a little too sad, but I still loved it. "
— Brenda, 2/16/2014" Nice story of the beginning of the de Piagets. Kurlands dialogue is catchy and amusing. "
— Barbara, 2/6/2014" I am so happy I found this author. I love historical fiction/romance and these are humorous and PG in terms of the romance aspect (a rare find). I will be sad when I finish the last few books and have to find another series to read. "
— Kate, 1/27/2014" Lynn Kurland is my favorite author, and I love (5stars love) most of her other books. However, this one is really really sad. It's a beautiful love story, but I read books to feel happy and escape the world and it's problems for a bit, this one drowns you in sorrow until the very end where it picks up with a HEA. I would definitely recommend it since it's the first in the De Piaget series, but just be forewarned, it's a sad one. "
— Ashley, 1/14/2014" This was the book that supposedly started it all, being the first chronologically of Lynn Kurland's books. It may be one of my least favorite of the batch, but still excellent. "
— Abby, 1/2/2014" Lynn Kurland is my latest favorite author. She writes--get this--time travel and paranormal romances. Not my usual fare. But I love her stuff. "
— Wendy, 12/23/2013" I loveed this book. Gwen and Rhys are some of my new favorite characters ever!! I love her spunk and the way he takes it. Cannot wait til the next one!! "
— Rachel, 12/22/2013" I love these books, and I read them a long time ago but I'm reading them again. I love the depth of the stories and the characters. And I loved reading this one because I enjoyed being introduced to lots of characters in later books. It's great to see them "grow up". "
— Jennifer, 12/19/2013" This was a good romance without the smut. I love the time era it is set in. And i love the continuation of the series. "
— Krissa, 12/14/2013" lOVED THIS BOOK i THOUGHT IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM SOME OF THE OTHER LYNN KURLAND NOVELS. LOVE THESE TWO CHARACTERS. AND THERE MERRY FRIENDS. LOVED THIS. "
