Penny Nichols has the London apartment, the classic cat, the villa in France, the fabulous bank account, and the great guy to share them all with. So everything’s perfect, right? Er, well … Pursued by gigolos, gold diggers, an ex-wife, and highly aggressive salesmen, all chasing after their millions, freelancer-turned-heiress Penny Nichols and her boyfriend, Jeremy, decide to take a whole summer off and sock away most of their inheritance. But they allow themselves one big splurge from their wish list—and that’s where all the trouble begins. At an auction on the French Riviera, Penny and Jeremy win much more then they bargain for, as they uncover a centuries-old rivalry involving the theft of a strange priceless treasure linked to Beethoven’s Germany. Investigating everything from a 1920s yacht on the Mediterranean to the legendary superstitions of the island of Corsica right up to a castle on Lake Como, Italy, Penny and Jeremy track down a mysterious elderly count whose fractured memory may hold the piece of this fascinating historical puzzle.

"Penny and Jeremy start spending their inheritances. Somehow they also manage to get involved with a 100 year old mystery, robbery and suspicious activity. The book is humorous, but not predictable. The characters are well developed. I wish that I had the life Penny has had and her resources. I'm just not sure that I would have made the decisions she did. Mine are not always the best ones."

“In Belmond’s lilting sequel to A Rather Lovely Inheritance, heroine Penny Nichols exults in being released from her stodgy American life and learns that being newly rich is not all champagne and roses…It’s fluffy and fun, even if you don't have your own yacht.”
— Publishers Weekly“Belmond’s second novel is bound to charm romantic suspense fans.”
— Booklist" Another great story without the swearing this time. "
— Suzie, 2/19/2014" I rather enjoyed this book more than the first one. It was an good book, but still not a fantastic book. I am glad I read it and would read another. "
— Laura, 2/17/2014" Penny and Jeremy seem to have a talent for finding things and solving what nobody else has been able to and the thing is whatever it is finds them they don;t look for it not intentionally anyway. In their case nothing is definitely ever as easy as it looks or as you'd think it would be. "
— Robin, 2/14/2014" Still a cute series. Fun easy read. "
— Kim, 1/22/2014" 2nd in series:) but a fun read, interesting. Surprised it was written by an NYU professor of creative writing, not so outrageous or weird:) A mystery to search for is involved, cool yacht. "
— Mina, 1/14/2014" i like this author! great detective and romance reading at the sametime! Very descriptive of her surroundings "

— Erin, 12/21/2013" THis was a fun read and sequel to A Rather Lovely Inheritance. Sun soaked mediterraean, private villa dn yacht making for a lovely backdrop. A mystery involving a centuries old love affair, and a scrap of Betthoven's music involved. "
— Emma, 12/12/2013" Wonderful. I already started the next book in the series and hope there are more to come. "
— Amy, 9/17/2013" Another pleasant little mystery - the second in the series. I look forward to reading the next installment as Penny and Jeremy plan their wedding. "

— Krystal, 11/7/2012" I did enjoy this book about an inheritance, a love story and a yacht, but not enough to search for the prequel. "
— Ellie, 10/20/2012" A really nice follow up to the first book. Penny Nichols is an interesting character with good instincts. These are definitely cozy mysteries, but worth the time and investment in them. "
— Beth, 9/6/2012" I bought this book at Borders before it closed. The book got me interested because the story in this book takes place in French Riviera. I didn't read other books in this series but this one was an easy read, good for someone who doesn't care about a serious reading. "
— Paris, 7/6/2012" I enjoyed this adventure of Jeremy and Penny. I hope there will be a third story soon. "
— Gail, 12/8/2011" It's the 2nd book I've read, this book follows "A rather lovely inheritance" or something. British, girly fiction...which I love. Simple easy reading. "
— Gwen, 7/29/2011" Not as good as the first one, but still a pretty fun read. I will say, though, that reading this book kinda made me bummed out that I haven't inherited a fortune and found the perfect man. Yet. "
— Gretchen, 7/22/2011" The first of this series, A Rather Lovely Inheritance, was a delightful confection through and through. I eagerly awaited the next installment. It was a disappointment. Not bad enough to stop reading but it didn't get interesting until the last quarter of the book. "
