With her trademark effervescence, Goldie delivers a personal look at private and powerful events that carried her through life: her father’s spontaneity; her mother’s courage; and the joy of being a daughter, a sister, a parent, and a lover. She writes about her childhood dreams of becoming a ballerina. She takes us on a tour of her go-go years in 1960s New York City, the phenomenon of TV’s Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, her Oscar-winning debut in Cactus Flower and Hollywood stardom. She writes intimately about the challenges of love, anger and fear, and the importance of compassion and integrity. She speaks openly about her family, her partner Kurt Russell, her children; her faith, her curiosity for that which she doesn’t yet know, and her thirst for knowledge. Most of all, it is a trip back through a life well lived by a woman well loved.

"I've always been a fan of Goldie Hawn, and was really pleased when I saw she'd released an autobiography. I was a little disappointed after reading it though. Whilst this is in most parts an interesting read, a lot of it is about lessons in life as opposed to an actual autobiography. Don't get me wrong, she does talk about her life, and her family, and she writes very well (she's very philosophical). I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting, but still a good read. I will probably re-read this at some point, maybe I'll appreciate it better second time around..."

" I loved this biography! I was amazed at Goldie's journey through life and I learned a lot about myself following her journey as well. "
— Alicia, 2/13/2014" Liked it. Shows the mothering side of her "
— Cynthia, 2/13/2014" A delightful memoir. Sweet and funny. Goldie Hawn is as endearing in this book as she appears in real life. If you lime her, you'll like this memoir. "
— Rachel, 2/6/2014" This was pretty good. I was actually suprised how much I liked it. The end was a little too philosophical for me though. "
— Paula, 1/24/2014" I have a whole new respect for that ditzy blonde from Laugh In. Her life is so much different than I ever would have imagined. She's sturggled with things I couldn't imagine having to deal with. She approaches everything in her life with all that she has and all that she is and does it with absolute finesse. She comes off as totally down to earth and very in touch with herself, who she is and what she wants out of life and she loves to be normal. I would love to spend a day with her and her family. "
— Liz, 1/20/2014" One of the best books I've read... "
— Kathy, 1/9/2014" A beautifully presented book with some interesting stories and insight. Goldie Hawn seems like a very likeable person and yet I was still not completely taken with her autobiography. She has had an amazing life though. "
— Kate, 1/8/2014" I enjoyed this more than I thought I would -- a light read. "
— Victoria, 1/8/2014" Jesus wept, the audiobook's giggling and gooey voice was enough to make you drink. I don't think I could handle Goldie Hawn in real life. "
— That70sheidi, 1/6/2014" I ended up really enjoying this one. Fast read. One of the better autobiographies I read- free from "and I knew that moment would change my life forever"- type phrases. "
— Kristinb, 1/2/2014" I only read the parts that talked about growing up in Takoma Park. I liked those. :) "
