Benjamin Zander has been the conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra for the past thirty years. He has been on the faculty of the New England Conservatory since 1965 and has taken the NEC Youth Philharmonic on thirteen international tours. He is the Artistic Director of the Walnut Hill School, a high school for the performing arts. In 2002 he was the recipient of the United Nations Caring Citizen of the Humanities Award.
