" Honestly, part of me wants to give this book only 2 stars - but when I take the time to actually reflect on the book I feel that it does deserve a little more - of course, I would prefer to just give it 2.5 stars. There are moments where I feel like the author has just jumped from one action to the next, not showing how the character got into that next position. It was kind of frustrating. In some ways I liked this book better than the first since it was told from Mae's point-of-view but I think I was expecting a little more. I think my favorite parts were the journal entries because I like understanding the history that led to the characters' development. "
